Sprites are back Fortniteand this time they make a huge difference to your gameplay. While they would previously provide shields or mobility, they can now offer a wide variety of abilities, buffs, and more.
There are currently ten different Sprites to discover and collect, with the ability to level them up and extract extra Sprites for Sprite Dust. Here's everything you need to know about Sprites, which ones are best to level first, and how to use them.
How to find sprites
You will start with a choice of three Sprites: Water, The earthand Fire. Each of these offers a different buff or ability, and you can choose to change them at the start of each match or swap them out for a Sprite discovered as you play. New Sprites wander around the map and are hidden in Sprite chests.
As you find Sprites in the game, you can pick them up and store them in an inventory slot (1 per slot) and then equip them to gain their ability or place them in a Extraction box to get Sprite Dust. Use any Sprite Dust you collect to summon Sprites or purchase upgrades and other services Sprite stations.
- Extraction site: a large platform marked on the map that sends down a crate to place any extra Sprites, ready for extraction, giving you Sprite Dust in return.
- Sprite Station: a computer at an extraction site that offers weapon upgrades, XP bonuses, and other services in exchange for Sprite Dust.
How to level up a sprite
You can level up your Sprite of opening chests, eliminate playerand extract Sprites at the extraction sites. Any new Sprite types you find while playing can be saved by extracting them for the first time.

Look out for one legendary Vault Keycard which drop from rare chests. This can get you into one Sprite Vault which holds some rare loot and many Sprites, including rare types you may not have found yet.
The best Sprites to level up first is Fire, Demonand Ghost Sprites. Fire Sprite is the best first Sprite to level up, and its fire blast is great for finishing off an enemy, especially if you need to reload. Demon Sprite can save you if you're about to be third party, giving you an extra health and shield after taking out an opponent. Finally, the Ghost Sprite can help you avoid getting shot while reloading, something that has ended a match for even the best Fortnite players.
