Innersloth has officially revealed Among Us Story: On Guarda brand new story game set in Among us universe. It represents the first new Among us game since then Among Us VR 2022, and the first single-player experience in the history of the series.
Among us is one of the biggest indie success stories of all time. The first game was originally released in 2018 with little fanfare, but it developed a huge fan base in 2020 after it gained a lot of attention from streamers and online content creators. It was successful enough that developer Innersloth canceled a planned one Among us sequel to focus on the original. A VR version of the game followed in 2022, but there has been very little to suggest that the developer plans to revisit the idea of a full-fledged sequel anytime soon.
Among Us Story: On Guard officially revealed
In an exciting reveal trailer shared during Summer Game Fest, Innersloth announced Among Us Story: On Guarda new single-player title that sees players take control of a guard in the Crewmate training program. When an imposter begins murdering Crewmates, players must prove their own innocence while finding the imposter before they can kill the entire crew. It's like classic Among us Cheaters vs. Crewmate gameplay, but with a fresh solo twist. Innersloth says players will encounter “a colorful group of Crewmates,” each with their own defined personalities. Players will complete tasks, just like in the original, allowing them to build a case against the fraudster.

The graphics of Among Us Story: On Guard are stunning and retain the 2D charm of the original while looking much more refined. It's cool to see the developer taking risks in branching out with the franchise, with the game being announced on the same day as Among us The TV adaptation made a surprise release on Paramount+ after three years of silence.
Players can wishlist Among Us Story: On Guard on Steam right now, and a demo will be available from June 15 as part of Among us' birthday celebration. Innersloth says the game is only slated for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2, but claims that “it's likely we'll have more in the future.” No price or release date has been nailed down yet. Interestingly, the developer has already confirmed it Among Us Story: On Guard will feature multiple endings for replayability, and describes it as “a chaotic, silly, and beansized experience for your enjoyment.”

Although it has been a while since something new Among us games, that doesn't mean the series has been on a complete hiatus. Last year, Among us launched a surprise crossover with Stardew Valleywhich brings exclusive cosmetics based on the life simulator to the game for multiplayer deception. Hopefully the recent upswing is a sign of more exciting things to come Among us in the near future.
