8 pirates with the highest potential, ranked

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece is centered around pirates and it will come as no surprise to fans to know that over the years he has introduced a plethora of incredible pirates of both immense strength and high infamy. Those who rule at the top are usually at the peak of their powers. But there are also those pirates in the world of One Piece which has enormous potential. These pirates are far from their prime, but the potential they have is absolutely enormous. These are the budding pirates of the new generation and eventually they will go on to fulfill their potential and conquer the seas one day.

Edward Weevil

Edward Weevil was quite an intriguing character that fans were introduced to in One Piece's post-timeskip. It was mentioned by Admiral Kizaru that his strength is like a young Edward Newgate's. In fact, he got a 480 million carry prize pretty quickly, which was frozen after he became a Shichibukai.

After the abolition of the Shichibukai system, he was captured by Aramaki. However, it is highly likely that he used dirty tactics to get hold of him. Still, in terms of strength and potential, he has the blood of Edward Newgate, meaning he carries immense potential and the destruction he leaves behind is proof of that.

Eustace Kid

Eustis Kid is one of the worst generation pirates with huge potential, and the fact that he has all three types of Haki only shows that. In addition to that, fans also know that he has the ability to harness the powers of magnetism with his Jiki Jiki no Mi. Kid has risen to the top with his very own powers, and currently, he recently received a reward of 3 billion berries. Unfortunately, he faced Shanks in battle during the Egghead arc and was totally decimated, with his crew sunk to the bottom of the ocean.

He still has some potential left to fulfill, and if he comes back in the series at some point later, he will definitely reach even greater heights.

Trafalgar law

Trafalgar Law is another powerful individual that fans know is full of potential. Law was awarded a bounty of 3 billion berries recently, and this was without him reaching his peak as a pirate. He has recently awakened the power of his Ope Ope no Mi, but he still has some work to do on his Haki. While we know that team is very strong, he still has unfulfilled potential that could see him reach the top.

For now, he won't be coming back anytime soon as his crew, the Heart Pirates, recently faced a crushing defeat at the hands of the Blackbeard Pirates. Law and his trusted bear Bepo were the only two who managed to escape. The current whereabouts of the rest of the crew remain unknown.

Boa Hancock

Boa Hancock is the ruler of the Amazon Lily. Hancock is known as the snake princess and has the ability to use all three types of Haki. Just by going on a trip she got an 80 million Berry Bounty. Her current bounty stands at 1.659 billion berries, and that's absolutely huge. Hancock also possesses the power of Mero Mero no Mi, which is incredibly dangerous as it can petrify almost anyone. We haven't seen Hancock's full potential yet, but she certainly has it in her to grow even further and reach the same status as the Emperors.

In fact, when Blackbeard snuck up on Hancock after the abolition of the Shichibukai system, he openly stated that if he approached Hancock directly, he could lose and instantly turn to stone.

Jewelry Bonney

Jewelry Bonney is a 12-year-old pirate with immense strength. She has the power of Toshi toshi no Mi, which allows her to imagine any future for herself or anyone she touches and make it come true. Of course, Bonney has to really believe in that future for it to come true and essentially this power is directly tied to her imagination.

Despite some limitations, Bonney is already strong enough to fight back against Vice Admirals, even though she is only 12. She has incredible potential and she can surely continue to reach the peak of the era later. Despite being so young, she is already known to be a user of Armament and Observation Haki. With Gear 5 at his disposal as well, Bonney is an absolute monster that will reach the top of the world in the future.

Sanji

Sanji is one of the Pirate King's wings and a powerful officer of the Straw Hat Pirates. Fans know that Sanji is an extremely powerful fighter, and he relies on martial arts, Haki, and science in battle. Although Sanji is already strong enough to take down any Yonko, he still has the potential to grow stronger, as confirmed by Oda himself.

In the Elbaph arc, Eiichiro Oda officially confirmed that Sanji is the replacement for Scopper Gaban, and will have to surpass the standard set by the Pirate King's former left arm. This means you gain Conqueror's Haki and increase the overall power level to become even stronger.

Roronoa Zoro

Roronoa Zoro is a character we've seen quite a bit of One Piece. As the Straw Hats' swordsman and one of the Pirate King's wings, Zoro is among the strongest individuals in the story.

Zoro is strong enough to take down any Yonko at this point, but his ceiling is much higher. He can defeat even stronger individuals in the future and reach greater heights, which is a given, because he has to surpass Dracule Mihawk. Roronoa Zoro has the power to use all three types of Haki, and the Elbaph arc officially set him up to gain full control of his Haki.

Monkey D. Luffy

The main character of the series, Luffy is the individual with the highest ceiling in One Piece because he has the most potential. We know for sure that Luffy is Joy Boy again. He possesses the powers of the Nika Fruit, and on top of that, he has advanced his Haki to extreme levels. Luffy still has some room to grow even though he's almost at his peak. Although he rose to the position of a Yonko after the Wano War, Luffy can improve his Haki drastically and even gain stronger Devil Fruit powers. Overall, considering how he started his journey, we can safely say that he has even more potential.
