A reliable insider has claimed that Hollow Knight: Silksong's long-awaited physical release will launch in October and will come with some bonus goodies.
It's kind of wild to think that this time last year, we were all still obsessing over when Team Cherry was finally able to share more details about Hollow Knight: Silksong after more than half a decade of waiting. While Silksong mostly lived up to expectations and has been out for close to a year, that obsession has simply carried over to other things tied to the game.
A notable example of this is the game's mysterious Sea of Sorrow DLC, but for tat collectors like me, the biggest remaining question has been about Silksong's physical release, which was confirmed some time ago but has yet to appear. However, that looks set to change in the near future, as a seemingly reliable source has revealed Team Cherry's plans for the disc version.
Silksong is reportedly getting a physical release in October
A re-release of the original Hollow Knight is also on the way
On Twitter, trusted insider billbil_kun shared an exclusive report on Silksong's physical release that just went live on Dealabs. According to them, the disc version that was promised for “early 2026” and has since missed that date will finally arrive (at least to the US) on October 16 for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series, and Xbox One.
The physical release will be handled by Fangamer, who was previously involved with the physical releases of the original Hollow Knight, and will reportedly come with a disc, a 32-page manual, and a fold-out map of Pharloom. It's not clear if this is the only edition offered right now, but it will apparently cost $39.99 on the PS5 and Xbox series, and $44.99 on the Switch 2.
That's not all Dealabs reported, however, as a physical re-release of the original Hollow Knight is reportedly slated for a same-day release for Switch 2 and PS5. This re-release is similar to the physical version of Silksong, as it comes with the disc, a 28-page manual, and a fold-out map of Hallownest for $34.99 on PS5 and $39.99 on Switch 2.
