A new update preview for Xbox console insiders is changing the way playtime works, adjusting it based on feedback recently collected through the Xbox Player Voice program. So far, it seems like the Xbox Player Voice program is a huge success, and it also confirms that Xbox fans want exclusive games more than anything else, but it's certainly not something that can be fixed in a few days. What is, however, is how players get information about game time.
The Xbox Player Voice program is designed to be a place where Xbox players submit their feedback and requests about the platform, and then Xbox will respond accordingly. As the company says, some ideas will move forward while others will not be addressed, depending on the request or taking longer in some cases. This new change falls into the quick tweak category, but it comes from the Player Voice program.

Xbox makes big changes in performance
Xbox insiders are getting a glimpse of big performance changes now, but everyone else will have to wait a little longer for the launch.
Xbox is changing playtime and how it's displayed
In short, Xbox Insiders can preview a new OS update for Xbox consoles right now that, among other things, adjusts game time from days to hours. The request and the quick solution are completely logical. My PlayStation friends can tell me how many hours they have Apex Legends instantly, while I (as an Xbox player) have to sit down and convert days into hours with my handy dandy calculator. It's not a game-changing console update or anything, but it's a small victory for the program and for new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma.

Of course, there are other updates included in this Xbox preview before everything goes out to the wider public. It also includes some bug fixes, namely issues where a profile page wouldn't display, where an icon focus would disappear when navigating the menu, and other various stability and performance fixes. Xbox engineers are also looking into new issues that have surfaced around Gamerscore badges and how some games are not showing up in their My Games and Apps collection. Overall, it's a small but meaningful update for the Xbox community.
Since Asha Sharma took over from Phil Spencer as CEO, she seems to be picking up quite a few small victories. The real test, though perhaps a preliminary one given that she has yet to be CEO for even 100 days, is the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. Fans will want to see the right games, released at the right time, with the right message around them, and some of that is already set in stone for 2026. But, depending on how it plays out, it could be a pretty good year for Xbox in terms of brand identity and image.

The highest rated game of the year right now is after all Forza Horizon 6from developer Playground Games and publisher Xbox Game Studios. It remains to be seen if that momentum will continue with other releases, but things are looking up.
