One Piece's The story takes place in the Great Age of Pirates, where the strongest crews set out to claim One Piece over the Grand Line. The Grand Line itself is a sea full of challenges and dangers. Whether it's the threat of the marines, other pirates, or natural disasters, there are countless pirate crews that end up being destroyed, and some are even sunk to the bottom of the ocean floor. While many pirate crews have made a name for themselves, a few others have been wiped out in the pursuit of supremacy, with the latest saga only adding to it.

Rock Pirates

Decades ago in the history of One Piecea pirate crew reigned supreme on the Grand Line and that crew was known as the Rocks Pirates. This crew is now lost to history due to its destruction on God Valley Island 38 years ago.

The Rocks Pirates were never the tightest of crew, but they excelled nonetheless; however, it fell apart when Shakky was kidnapped and Xebec's family was in danger in God Valley. Many members of the Rocks Pirates betrayed Xebec, and those who stayed by his side were unable to save him. Rocks died at God Valley after being Domi Reversed and then stabbed to death by Garling. After his death, all the members went their separate ways, and some started their own pirate crews.

Whitebeard remnants

The Whitebeard Pirates are a fan favorite team from the One Piece series. They were led by Edward Newgate, the world's strongest man. Some of his strongest commanders included the likes of Marco, Portgas D. Ace, Jozu, and Vista.

After Whitebeard's death at Marineford, the crew didn't completely fall apart right away. Instead, Whitebeard's remnants still remained as a large crew led by Marco the Phoenix. But eventually they were completely destroyed not too long after as they sought revenge for Whitebeard's death. They fought a war against the Blackbeard Pirates, called the Grudge War, but unfortunately they lost and were completely wiped out.

Donquixote pirates

• Captain: Donquixote Doflamingo

The Donquixote Pirates were one of the main enemy crews the Straw Hat Pirates faced after the timeskip, and they were led by the former Shichibukai, Donquixote Doflamingo. Overall, the Donquixote family was an underwhelming crew, with its only true shining member being Doflamingo. But they still weren't a bunch that was easy to completely defeat.

This pirate crew was completely destroyed in the Dressrosa arc. After Luffy tapped into the Gear 4 Bounce Man, he was able to, once and for all, defeat Doflamingo. All members of this crew are still alive but most have already been arrested. The Ht Organization no longer exists, with their leader, Doflamingo, currently cast in Impel Down Level 6. Doflamingo may still have a role to play in the Final Saga but he will not be returning with his crew.

Beast Pirates

The Beast Pirates were an overpowered Yonko team and one of the strongest in all of history. This pirate crew was led by the person who was once called the strongest being in the world, Kaido. The defeat of this crew was set up from the beginning of the post-timeskip.

In the Wano arc, especially during the Raid of Onigashima, this crew finally fell when Luffy beat Kaido. Meanwhile, the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates as well as their allies beat all of Kaido's subordinates. Kaido is now presumed dead and the rest of his crew are in captivity.

Heart pirates

• Captain: Trafalgar D. Water Law

The Heart Pirates, led by Trafalgar Law, are a fan favorite team. In the heart pirate ranks, Law is definitely the most relevant character, we can't forget Bepo, Penguin and Satchi.

Law did quite well in Wano as he was able to take down a Yonko with the help of Kid. Still, things started to go downhill after that for Law. Once he separated from the Straw Hat Pirates, he was attacked by the Blackbeard Pirates and while they fought their best, the Heart Pirates were destroyed. Law barely made it out alive thanks to help from Bepo. Law and Bepo are the only characters that came out and the rest of the Heart Pirates are presumed dead.

Kid pirates

• Captain: Eustace Captain Kid

Eustass Kid is a member of the Worst Generation who led the Kid Pirates as its captain. Kid was incredibly useful on Onigashima when he helped defeat Yonko Big Mom. However, as was the case with Law, things went sour for him after leaving Wano. He decided to challenge Shanks, which was a terrible decision. Despite a 3 billion bounty on his head, Shanks decimated the entire Kid Pirates in a single hit. The likes of Kid and Killer were seen sinking into the sea. At the moment, fans don't know their status but many assume they might have died because there was no one around to save them, especially as Devil Fruit users, they can't swim to land.

Rumbar Pirates

The Rumbar Pirates are a pretty small crew in the grand scheme of things. This crew was Brook's original pirate crew over 59 years ago, and was then led by Yorki. After Yorki suffered an illness and sailed through the Tranquil Belt, Brook took over the crew, but they still met a rather dark end.

The Rumbar Pirates got stuck in the Florian Triangle and due to being attacked and poisoned by another pirate crew, they all started dying one after the other. Brook was the only surviving member of this crew because he had the Yomi Yomi no Mi. The Rumbar Pirates officially ended that fateful day, despite Brook's survival. He then moved on to the Straw Hat Pirates.

Gecko pirates

Gecko Moria was once a member of the Shichibukai that Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates fought against before the time jump. In the Thriller Bark arc, Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates battled the Thriller Bark Pirates. But Moria had another crew before the one that was absolutely destroyed by Kaido and the beast Pirates of Wano. This crew was known as the Gecko Pirates and its loss caused much trauma to Moria.

Gecko Moria lost his crew when he decided to sail away in hopes of saving the homeland that welcomed him with open arms, Wano. Despite losing his crew, Moria's sacrifice was still very honorable.
