Dog Logan is Wolverine's secret half-brother and his first rival
Before there was saber tooth, there was Logan the dog
Wolverine really can't catch a break, and Dog Logan is one of the many thorns in his adamantium-infused side. Dog Logan is Wolverine's secret half-brother, as they share the same father, Thomas Logan, a gardener at the Howlett Estate. While their shared blood may not have been a priority of their focus, their once shared friendship was through the centuries, until it became blood.
The Howlett Estate was under fire from an angry Thomas Logan, and Wolverine, as a youth, killed the man in a fit of rage, leaving Dog Logan scarred, both mentally and physically. A century later, Dog Logan would be tasked with hunting down his half-brother to prove who the best Logan is, and it just goes to show how messed up Logan's family tree really is.
Sabretooth isn't Wolverine's brother, but he treats him like one (sort of)
Sabretooth's hatred of Wolverine runs deeper than blood
Sabretooth and Wolverine aren't brothers, and that's been a common misconception about the characters ever since X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) went to the cinema. In the 20th Century Fox Marvel movie, the two are literally flesh and blood brothers. However, Marvel Comics has their relationship so much more complicated, ever since Wolverine allegedly killed Sabretooth's brother over a century ago.
Sabretooth hunts Wolverine every year as payback, to make his life a literal living hell. Sabretooth's birthday tradition involves killing Wolverine's lover, or maiming anyone who gets close to him, and ending it with a bloody brawl that will take weeks to recover from. Although they are not brothers, their bond runs much deeper than any family tree could.

The world of Marvel Comics is an unforgiving place, with these villains constantly wreaking havoc.
Folkbern Logan is a 11th century ancestor who witnessed Apocalypse & Thor
Wolverine isn't the first Logan to fight with Thor
Folkbern Logan is one of Wolverine's ancestors, who was a guard in London, England, in the 11th century. Folkbern's appearance in the comics is very brief, and he only appears in a few pages Uncanny Avengers #6 (April 2013), but he is unmistakably Wolverine's ancestor.
Year 1013 AD Folkbern was a pagan who did not believe in any gods. That was until the Horsemen of the Apocalypse arrived. Folkbern asked for a guardian, and it was the Mighty Thor, the God of Thunder, who answered. Other guards testified to Thor's power, and one only replies: “Folkbern Logan… you are the best there is at what you choose to do. But what you are doing is not very kind.“which is a direct reference to Wolverine's self-reference”I am the best there is at what I do…“
Wolverine's family tree consists of clones and unknowns
Clones, natural born sons, and even unknown mixers make up Wolverine's legacy as a father
Wolverine has lived for centuries and he has fallen in love countless times. Although tragedy always seems to strike Logan, he has still managed to father children who have inherited his mutant gene. Even without normal fertilization through birth, Logan is still the father of a handful of clones worth mentioning:
-
Laura Kinney (clone/daughter)
-
Gabby Kinney (clone of a clone/daughter)
-
Akihirio / Daken (son)
-
Gunhawk (son)
-
Saw Fist (Son)
-
cannon foot (son)
-
Shadowstalker (daughter)
-
Fire Knives (daughter)
In fact, the last names on the list we've shown (Gunhawk, Saw Fist, Cannon Foot, Shadowstalker, and Fire Knives) are part of the mongrelen, a group of illegitimate children that Logan unwittingly fathered over the centuries, each manipulated into hating the father they never knew with the sole goal of their right hand to make his red leader hell. Wolverine even killed them in battle, showing once again that his family tree is ugh, so very messed up.
Romulus is Wolverine's (potentially) oldest ancestor
Romulus has played Wolverine's entire life with his own immortal cunning
For some reason, everyone who has Wolverine's blood running through their veins just seems to hate him. Romulus is yet another one of those characters, and his identity adds further complexity and mystery to Wolverine's canon, as Romulus claims quite a few things, many of which have been dismissed.
Romulus is clearly related to Wolverine in some aspect, as they share many physical similarities and in their mutant powers. Romulus claimed to be a lupine, a tribe of wild people evolved from wolves, showing how far he will take the Wolverine giant. Romulus has been scheming behind the scenes to meddle in Wolverine's life, much like Sabretooth has, albeit from a background that extends beyond ancient Rome. Whether or not Romulus is actually Wolverine's founding ancestor is anyone's guess, but he makes a pretty good case, even if he is a compulsive liar and a villain.
