Anime series can often feature overpowered characters who rise to godhood, and this adds a unique layer to the story, raising the tension to incredibly high levels. Often, characters who go on to become gods are the villains in power-hungry stories, but sometimes even the protagonists can achieve god powers. Either way, it's always exciting to see divine power in anime in various forms, especially when there's a particular universe's story attached to it. In a handful of anime characters that have achieved godlike powers, only a few can stand as the very best.

Goku
Goku began as a child on a quest for exciting adventures for the Dragon Balls, but as the story progressed, his thirst to improve in terms of strength and reach new heights increased. After the conclusion of the main Dragon Ball series, Goku went on to achieve godlike powers in Dragon Ball Super. This happened when he first harnessed the power of God Ki vs Beerus, and he hasn't looked back since.
Goku's Super Saiyan God as well as Super Saiyan Blue transformation both use the power of God. He even achieved an even more divine state called Ultra Instinct, which is even more exalted. Interestingly, Goku's evolution hasn't stopped yet, and he continues to improve as the story progresses, with more godlike transformations coming later.

Rimuru Tempest
-
Anime: That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime
Rimuru Tempest is one of the most overpowered anime protagonists of all time, and one that fans absolutely love due to the wide range of abilities he possesses. Rimuru's ascent towards godhood is slow, but as the series goes on it becomes more apparent.
By the end of the series, Rimuru has god-like powers and becomes incredibly overpowered, so much so that even the strongest anime characters would fail to fight him.

Vegeta
Vegeta and Goku often make progress together. Just as Goku attained God Ki after the conclusion of the main storyline in Dragon Ball, so did Vegeta. He also awakened the power of Super Saiyan God, and later also Super Saiyan Blue. Vegeta can also harness the powers of the God of Destruction by using a unique transformation called Ultra Ego.
All of these transformations give him the power beyond mortals, and his evolution continues as the story of Dragon Ball Super continues as well. In the future, he could unlock even more divine transformations that are sure to excite fans.

Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha is one of the main characters Naruto series, and he began his journey as a ninja by being in the shadow of his older brother, Itachi. Sasuke's talent was immense, but to bring it to the surface he had to put in quite a bit of work. Over the years, Sasuke's intellect and tremendous wit in battle allowed him to reach sky-high levels. He even achieved the power of the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.
His ultimate evolution came in the 4th Great Ninja War when he faced the Sage of Six Paths, just like Naruto did. During this meeting, Sasuke was asked a lot of questions, at the end of which he was granted half of the sage's powers. With the Six Path's Yin Chakra, Sasuke essentially gained half the power of a God, and this made him one of the strongest characters in the entire series, strong enough to rival the likes of Madara Uchiha and Kaguya Otsutsuki. After the end of the war, Sasuke further honed his abilities and became so strong that he could single-handedly withstand battles against the likes of Kinshiki and Momoshiki Otsutsuki. Undoubtedly, Sasuke is one of the best users of god powers in anime.

Griffith
Griffith is one of the most incredible anime antagonists of all time and one that is despicable to the core. Still, he is very well written by Kentaro Miura. Griffith was born with nothing, but through his immense hard work and talent, he rose to the top, along with his Band of the Hawk, who helped him achieve most of his goals. When things fell apart after Gut's departure, Griffith sacrificed everything, including the Band of the Hawk, to achieve great power.
He eventually joined God's Hand as the Fifth and even established his own kingdom. Griffith achieved immense evil powers and continues to dominate as one of the best anime villains with God powers. As the story of Berserk continues, so does Griffith's characterization.

Upon meeting Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the man worshiped as the Sage of Six Paths, Naruto Uzumaki gained half of his chakra and gained the power of Six Paths Sage Mode.
