Every straw hat's chances to die in the final saga

The last tale of One Piece it is where the Great War, teased by Oda for decades, will finally begin. Here, the stakes are through the roof, and the danger is at an all-time high. At the center of it all comes the straw hat pirates, the main characters of this story. Given the threat they will face, it's only natural that some of them will have near-death experiences. It may be unlikely that all the Straw Hats would die in the war at the end of the series, but with an epilogue that could take place many years from now, quite a few characters could very well have passed away, much to the surprise of fans.

Jinbe

Jinbe Straw Hat Chance's Death Final Saga in one piece

Jinbe is the helmsman of the Straw Hat Pirates and definitely one of the most trusted members of the crew. He has immense strength at his disposal, as well as Haki of two types. Jinbe is a combatant so strong that the chance of him dying in the Final Saga is incredibly low, but more importantly, he must ensure that the Fishmen's future is secured when they move to the upper surface. In that sense, Jinbe absolutely cannot die at any point in the finale of One Piece.

brook Straw Hat Chances Death Final Saga one piece

Brook is one of the oldest characters in the One Piece and has already died once. He serves as a musician for the Straw Hat Pirates and aims to meet Laboon again. But when Brook meets Laboon and the Straw Hat Pirates disband, it's very likely that he actually dies.

Brook won't survive forever, especially considering the vast majority of his friends are dead. A fitting end to his character arc would be him transitioning to the other world, finally fulfilling his promise to reunite with Laboon and once again delivering the message of the Rumbar Pirates to it.

Frankie

The Straw Hats' shipbuilder, Franky's chances of dying are incredibly low in One Piece. In fact, it's very likely that Franky won't die for years to come, given that his experiments make him somewhat similar to Vegapunk in a way. Just as Vegapunk lives on and will likely defy aging in some way, Franky's cyborg body will do something similar. It would not come as a surprise to see him alive, even a hundred or two hundred years from now.

Franky is easily one of the most exciting characters to follow after the end of the One Piece series, and hopefully Eiichiro Oda will provide a glimpse or two of him later on.

The Straw Hat Pirates have already evolved a lot in the Final Saga. These power-ups are huge in One Piece.

Nico Robin

nico robin Straw Hat Chances Death Final Saga one piece

Nico Robin is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the most exciting characters who has his own goal, which is to find the Rio Poneglyph and uncover the secrets of the Void Century. Robin is crucial to the final segment of the story and absolutely cannot die.

The crew must reach the Laugh Tale and uncover the world's secret history, and when that happens, Robin's dream will finally come true. Robin then gets another important role, and that is to establish a new world order where information is no longer hidden.

Chopper

chopper Straw Hat Chances Death Final Saga one piece

Chopper serves as the doctor for the Straw Hat Pirates and is one of the most important members of the crew. Without him, Luffy and the Straw Hats wouldn't get very far, and as such, Chopper's death is unlikely to happen at the end of One Piece.

Also, Chopper intends to become a doctor who saves many lives, more than just the Straw Hat Pirates. In that sense, it is highly unlikely that Chopper's death will happen at any point in the story. He will likely die a natural death many decades later.

Sanji

Sanji Straw Hat Chance's Death Final Saga in one piece

The Cook of the Straw Hat Pirates, Sanji is incredibly powerful and stands as one of the most trusted members of the crew alongside Roronoa Zoro. He has already promised to return to Baratie after his trip with the Straw Hat crew.

As such, it is highly unlikely for him to die at any point in the final saga One Piece. Even after the Great War, Sanji will likely continue to cook for many decades before finally dying of natural causes. His chances of dying are incredibly low in the final saga.

4

Usopp

Usopp Straw Hat Chances Death Final Saga one piece

Usopp is the sharpshooter of the Straw Hat Pirates and one of the few characters who could potentially die in the final segment of the story. Usopp wants to be a brave warrior of the sea, just like the Elbaph Giants, who take great pride in dying a warrior's death. Usopp has stated that it is his goal to die a very similar death, and the foreshadowing is indeed there for him to die at some point in the story.

It's highly unlikely that Usopp will meet his death before Luffy's journey ends, but once the crew splits and Usopp goes his own way, it's entirely possible for him to fall sometime down the line, which could be covered by some sort of epilogue of his own.

Namie

The navigator of the crew, Nami strives to draw a map of the entire world, and as such, she cannot fall in the Final Saga until she draws the entire world map. Even after that, Nami will continue to explore the seas in many ways, because at the end of the day, it's what she loves to do.

Her chances of dying are 0 because she is one of the main characters and the heroine of the series. Nami will not die at any point in One Piece, and there is no doubt about it.

2

Zoro

Zoro Straw Hat Chance's Death Final Saga in One Piece Image by Toei Animation

The Straw Hat Pirates' swordsman, Roronoa Zoro, is incredibly skilled with the blade, but every time he takes on a strong foe, he puts his life on the line. Zoro has already had many near-death experiences in One Piece and even encountered Shinigami, which could very well be a foreshadowing of a future death.

At least Zoro won't die before he surpasses Mihawk, but once he becomes the strongest swordsman in the world and fulfills his dream, there is every possibility that Zoro could face death, most likely in battle. There may well be someone who surpasses Zoro in the future, and the Straw Hat Swordsman may fall for their sword after completing his journey with Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates.

1

Luffy

One Piece Another Break May 10 Image by Toei Animation

Despite being the strongest of the Straw Hat crew, Luffy may very well end up dying at the end of the final saga, and this is due to the immense pressure he constantly puts on his body. Luffy has already had his lifespan shaved in arcs like Impel Down by 10 years. He has consistently pushed his body beyond all limits with powers like Gear 2, Gear 3, or even using both at the same time. Even Gear 4 has put a lot of strain on him, and Gear 5 turns him into a shriveled old man every time he uses it.

Obviously, Luffy has suffered a lot of strain from using his immense powers as much as he has. As such, he is one of the few characters who could very well die in the final saga after completing his journey. This would make for a very heartbreaking plot point, but definitely one that could further elevate the story of One Piece.
