In it Demon Slayer franchise, weapons, in general, play a fairly large role in the story. This is because these are the primary means for the members of the Demon Slayer Corps to fight the demons' otherworldly powers, as their weapons are made from a special ore called Nichirin, which the demons are weak to.
However, it's not at all the case that only members of the Corps can wield powerful weapons, as some of the strongest demons in the story owe much of their strength to their insanely powerful weaponry. So, in this article, let's go over the most powerful weapons in the Demon Slayer across the board, whether they belong to humans or demons.

Standard Nichirin blades are the main weapons
Users: All Demon Slayers
Forged from a special iron ore called Nichirin, the Demon Slayer Corps' sword is the primary method of fighting demons. This is because the ore is located on a high mountain that continuously absorbs sunlight, making it exceptionally powerful against these dangerous creatures of the night.
However, although the main use of Nichirin is in sword form, it is a fairly malleable metal that can be used to shape blades or weapons of any kind. For example, Mitsuri uses a long Nichirin whip blade while Shinobu uses a thin Nichirin thrusting sword intended only for short thrusts. The versatility of this metal plays to the individual strengths of the characters, and due to each main member of the corps having a weapon crafted from it, it is quite powerful.
Nichirin Cleavers offer speed and strength
User: Tengen Uzui
Although many consider these to be part of the normal array of Nichirin weapons, Uzui's twin cleavers set themselves apart due to their remarkable strength. Due to their large and wide blades, these cleaving blades are much stronger than regular Nichirin swords, which work perfectly with Tengen's incredible fighting style of Sound Breathing.
Sound Hashira's unparalleled speed is his primary means of combat, which is perfectly complimented by his cleavers as his strength and build allow him to use them with deadly efficiency. Due to being connected by their handles with a chain, Uzui has been shown to use them as nunchucks at blistering speed, making these cleavers one of the strongest weapons in the series.

The blood cells are coated with poison
User: Gyutaro
Becoming a demon gives someone immense power and deadly abilities with Blood Demon Arts. However, Gyutaro's already amazing strength was enhanced with his overwhelmed Blood Sickles, which were an extension of his abilities that gave him much better control over his Blood Demon Art, ultimately allowing him to match Uzui blow for blow.
In their fight, Gyutaro's Blood Sickles were shown to be equal in strength to Uzui's Nichirin Cleaver, and they could even be further coated with his poison blood, making them twice as deadly as before. Because of this, Gyutaro was able to rise to the rank of an Upper Moon to become one of the deadliest enemies in the entire world Demon Slayer.
Black nichirin leaves are very rare
User: Yoriichi, Tanjiro
Essentially, black colored Nichirin blades are functionally no different from the other Nichirin swords within the Demon Slayer Corps, as they are just simple Katanas. However, the only two who use this sword color are some of the strongest characters we've ever seen in the series and the only known users of Sun Breathing.
While black swords are generally seen as a bad omen in this world that means a short life for the wielder, Yoriichi and Tanjiro masterfully used their blades by imbuing them with Sun Breathing techniques to cause massive damage to not only the Upper Moon Demons, but to Muzan himself.
Demon Slayer: All Sun Breathing Techniques, Explained
Of all the breathing techniques in Demon Slayer, Sun Breathing is one of the most impressive. Here are all the moves it allows its users to make.
Nichirin's baton and ax are only for the strongest
User: Gyomei
As the oldest and most powerful of all the Hashira, Gyomei possessed an otherworldly strength that seemingly made him far too strong to use a standard Nichirin blade. Instead, Gyomei used a special weapon that was essentially a long chain with a short ax on one end and a giant, spiked maul on the other.
This weapon was incredibly unruly, heavy and difficult to use, with Gyomei being the only person with enough strength and skill to wield it masterfully. Because of this, it arguably became the strongest weapon in the entire Demon Slayer Corps as it was shown to clear demons with a single powerful hit. By sheer strength alone, this weapon is the largest in the Corps.
Kyokokukamusari is the strongest weapon
User: Kokushibo
As the second strongest demon in the entire series second only to Muzan himself, Kokushibo has held the Upper Moon 1 spot for centuries and is treated by the Demon King more like a partner than a subordinate. Due to his immense strength working alongside his skills as a swordsman, Kokushibo is the scariest enemy in the series.
His legendary Nichirin sword has been distorted over the years and has been consumed by his flesh, making it an extension of his Blood Demon Art. This blade is exceptionally powerful and makes full use of Kokushibo's Moon Breathing ability, with the ability to grow in length and strength at the user's will. All in all, Kyokokukamusari is the strongest weapon in the entire franchise.
