Community Days often feature fan-favorite Pokémon as protagonists. But sometimes the chosen pocket monster causes controversy within the community. In April 2025, many were Pokémon GO players were unhappy with Vanillite's Community Day, as it is not necessarily a popular or strong Pokemon. Similarly, with Lechonk's upcoming event, some fans pointed out how it is not a rare specimen in the wild. It remains to be seen which Pokémon can star in the next three Community Days. Interestingly, Sobble is the only starter Pokemon that has yet to appear in these events. There is a chance that next season could put the water starter in the spotlight.
