Along with just offering another platform to reach players, modders can monetize their work if they decide to go that route. It can be an exciting prospect for modders, and something many have wanted since the days when tinkerers patched games that Downfall on the computer or have NES games.

A goal for modders may be to create their own game or to work for a large company, as some have surely been noticed and picked up over time. Consequently, it can be beneficial to feature mods on as many sites as possible, just for the exposure. Right now there aren't many games or mods supported on the site, but it will grow over time. For fun, let's look at some of the weirder mods on GGMods.

Laugh Track Mod for Fallout: New Vegas
Turn tragedy into comedy
This mod for Fallout: New Vegasone of Obsidian Entertainment's best games, was developed by Qolore7 and basically adds a laugh track to several in-game activities. Laughter songs are synonymous with light and easy old school sitcoms that seemed to exist in a carefree bubble, so to see them applied to a world that Fallout: New Vegas is actually quite funny.
The laugh track will kick in when players fail to lock or hack a computer. It will also be added if players become addicted to drugs, like Jet, or if they lose celebrity. Other than that, this mod doesn't add anything else New Vegasand in many ways it can be quite demoralizing if these failures keep cropping up. It would be fun to hear when you watch a streamer play Fallout: New Vegas, fixed.
Jump Sovereign Mod For Fallout: New Vegas
Mario of the Apocalypse
Another mod for Fallout: New Vegasthis one adds a weird jump ability. Players no longer move normally after applying this mod, but instead must jump. They will jump higher and further depending on the button press, and there are even bonuses for doing it every 1,000 times.
This can lead to statistical bonuses, which max out after ten attempts. It makes the game harder than it already is, but it's fun to try. It's like throwing a Mario hack into one Fall-out game, which maybe would have made this mod better, but anyway, check it out.
Meat mod for Fallout 4
Become a mask person
Fallout 4 has some interesting mods on GGMods as well, and this one hands down beats the previous two Fallout: New Vegas downloads, at least in terms of absurdity. Developed by SpiffBy Spifferinoerino, this mod turns the Vault 111 protagonist into a literal mask person. The head is completely shaped like a mask, but the other aspects of the body are normal, from hands to feet.
5 Open-World RPGs That Age Better Every Year Thanks to Mod Support
Fans of these games can play them almost endlessly and discover new additions and changes through the community modding scene.
Although not explicitly stated in the description of this mod, it could have been inspired by Earthworm Jim series. While the proportions are off, it would honestly make sense for one Fall-out the game with a mutant like this as the protagonist, because this is the post-apocalypse after all, and anything can happen with radiation.
Taking on Hydra
Moving on to another big Bethesda game, this one The Elder Scrolls 5:Skyrim the mod was made by Skinwalker21. One of the most popular things to add to the game are weapons and dinosaurs. Creatures, in general, get a lot of love from Skyrim mod community, but this Hydra is particularly eye-catching. Its size is absolutely massive and has a greater mass than even a woolly mammoth or a giant.
It's kind of weird to add a Hydra because of its super large nature, and it kind of doesn't fit with the dragons flying around in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Hydras weren't made for Tamriel, but that doesn't make this mod any less cool.
Kines throwable slippers and blade mod for Starfield
Turning slippers into weapons
Last but not least on the Bethesda love train, there is Starfield. This mod was created by kinesthesia, and it adds a completely different weapon crafting system to the game. The main advertisement is the ability to throw slippers at enemies, which is as fun as kinesthesia describes it as.
It is related to that scene in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery where an enemy throws a shoe at Austin, and he complains about it. The mod would have been more fun if enemies complained about being attacked by slippers too, but still it's awesome. In addition to slippers, players can craft other throwable items, such as axes and knives, so if players want to become a space ninja to throw things at enemies, this is a good mod to look into.
Pochita Jeff Mod for Marvel Rivals
Transform Jeff The Land Shark into Pochita
Marvel Rivals started with a bunch of obvious characters like Wolverine, Storm, Psylocke and so on, but one of the weirdest heroes was Jeff the Land Shark. At the time of the game's launch in 2024, Jeff was a relatively new Marvel character, having appeared briefly in 2018 as a pet for Gwen Poole before being fleshed out in future years. In the series, its bite and weird legs were its power, but in the game, Jeff has healing and attacking abilities, including the ability to grow in size.
The weirdest hacking methods in video games
Video games have featured hacking in a variety of methods, so Game Rant takes a look at some of the weirder ways games have visualized hacking in-game.
This mod by yakuzadeso adds a new spin to the mix by giving Jeff a skin that makes him look like Pochita from Chainsaw man manga. Pochita was the main character's pet before fusing with him and giving him the titular Chainsaw Man's powers. For Marvel Rivalsit's a pretty fitting skin for Jeff.
Rock NPC Mod for Stardew Valley
Rock NPC
This Stardew Valley mod was developed by boxosoup and adds one of the weirdest NPCs to the game: a rock. It's not an anthropomorphic rockman that will give players satisfying conversations like romantic partners that players can talk to Stardew Valley. It's just a rock that players can talk to and receive blank stares from, and it gets weirder.
The stone will teleport randomly in the world, so players will never know where it will appear. If players want to add a little surprise to their hundredth playthrough of Stardew Valleythen maybe they should try this mod.
New Lore Friendly Holographic Ads Mod for Cyberpunk 2077
More friendly ads
This last mod comes from CCLordShen, and it replaces some of the Cyberpunk 2077s large neon signs with pure advertising, which kind of goes against what Night City stands for. As a cyberpunk game, Cyberpunk 2077 is meant to invite the idea of capitalism and getting the very best in every aspect of life, from hot bodies to cool guns.
Language is not held back in the future, because why bother when it's a dog-eat-dog world out there? Adding censorship to a game of its age like this is reminiscent of ClearPlay DVD players from the early 2000s that played regular DVDs, but it would cut out the naughty bits. There's nothing wrong with having a mod that adds pure ads to the game, so if anyone is curious to see CCLordShen's work, which looks professional, it's online.
