Star Wars at its core centers around a series of intergalactic wars which decide the galaxy’s fate. One of the most important of these conflicts is The Clone Wars. During this time, the major players in the galaxy were the Jedi, who were meant to uphold order, and the Separatist alliance secretly headed by the Sith. Several notable Jedi rose through the ranks during the Clone Wars, many of which became heroes throughout the galaxy.
Many of the Jedi council are considered living legends of their time. Some of which became famous for their connection to the force, while others became known for their impressive lightsaber techniques. Rank and role aren’t everything and several notable Jedi from the era never actually join the Jedi Council. Nevertheless, when comparing the Clone Wars-era Jedi the difference in power becomes relatively clear.

Quinlan Voss Is One of the Few Jedi To Have Survived Order 66
Vos Actually Makes His First Canon Appearance in The Phantom Menace
In many ways, Quinlan Voss serves as a rival and brother-figure to Obi-Wan Kenobi. The two were Padawans at virtually the same time and often trained together in the Coruscant Jedi Temple. Like Kenobi, Voss would lose his master during the beginning parts of the Clone Wars, which forever shaped his personality. Voss’ main role in the war is somewhat unfitting for a Jedi and most of his skills are catered towards espionage.
Star Wars: Every Lightsaber Color, Explained
Lightsabers are easily the most popular piece of Star Wars technology. They are even further defined by their colors with various meanings.
At some point, Voss lost his way and briefly fell to the dark side after being tortured by Count Dooku. He was eventually brought back to the light, but he was simply never the same again. Voss’ time spying for the Republic is exactly what led him to survive Order 66. After surviving the immediate fallout, Voss went into hiding and his fate currently remains unknown within the larger franchise. The only thing that is known for sure is that he is alive.

Saesee Tiin Is Largely Known For His Abilities as a Starfighter
Tin’s Coolest Moment Comes in the Now Non-Canon 2003 Cartoon
Saesee Tiin is an incredibly skilled lightsaber combatant, but he is primarily known for his piloting abilities. Unfortunately, his coolest moment, which occurred in the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon, is no longer canon. Tiin is one of the Jedi who would lose their lives directly by engaging Palpatine in battle. Tiin was slain in the battle almost immediately, which makes him look somewhat bad, but he lost against the most powerful Sith in the galaxy, at that time.
Rumor: Star Wars Jedi 3 Details and Release Plans Leaked
A leak circulating in the Star Wars community pinpoints the release window for Star Wars Jedi 3 on top of providing an overview of its premise.
Tiin doesn’t have many showings throughout the Clone Wars, but he is a member of the Jedi High Council, and his few feats are drastically impressive. He is present throughout most of the more important battles in the series, but he doesn’t necessarily make much of an impact. That said, his air support is unquestioned, and he is arguably the third-best pilot on the council.

Ki-Adi-Mundi Is as Hypocratic as He is Powerful
Mundi Is Often Used to Highlight the Jedi’s Folly
Ki-Adi-Mundi is many Star Wars’ fans’ least favorite Jedi just because of how he treats many of the other Jedi in the Order. His holier-than-thou attitude is what makes many dislike his overall character, but he backs it up with relatively impressive skills. He eventually died on the front lines after being gunned down by his clones during Order 66.
Since the Cereans, his species, are dying out by the time of the Clone Wars, Mundi is actually one of the only Jedi with a romantic partner. He also has plenty of wisdom since he first began his tenure in the High Republic Era. Nevertheless, his treatment towards Anakin is completely unfair and is one of the reasons he fell towards the Sith in the first place.

Kit Fisto Dueled General Grievous and Lived to tell the Tale
Fisto Eventually Lost His Life Facing Off Against Darth Sideous
Kit Fisto might not look like much, but he is one of the most skilled lightsaber combatants in the franchise. He faced off against General Grievous relatively early in the franchise and lived to tell the tale. While the Clone Wars somewhat discredits General Grievous, that doesn’t mean Fisto isn’t an incredibly capable fighter. Moreover, his interesting anatomy allows him to fight above and below the waves with relative ease.
Fisto is primarily utilized during sea battles, but is one of the few Jedi tasked with taking down Palpatine. He fares better than the two Jedi dispatched immediately, but is outclassed the moment Palpatine begins to utilize the force. This doesn’t completely discredit Fisto, since a majority of Clone Wars-era Jedi would have absolutely no experience fighting against a Sith, especially one as powerful as Darth Sidious.

Shaak Ti Is the Same Species as Ahsoka Tano
Shaak Ti Is Eventually Killed By Anakin During Order 66
Shaak Ti is mostly infamous for her many non-canon deaths within the series. She dies up to four times within legends content, but she officially dies by Anakin’s hand during Order 66. The fact that Anakin chose to battle the Jedi Master herself should be testament enough of her skills. She fought General Grievous, and although she didn’t win, she did survive, which is saying something.
Shaak Ti’s main goal during the Clone Wars was to defend the cloning facility on Kamino. At that point, the Jedi foolishly believed the cloning facility was integral to their success in the war. The Jedi foolishly protected their very destruction, but Shaak Ti more than demonstrated her impressive skills in doing so. Her status on the Jedi Council is simply unquestioned, unlike her various Legends deaths.

Plo Koon Is the Second Greatest Starfighter in the Jedi Order
Plo Is Also the One Who Recruited Ahsoka to the Jedi
Outside Anakin, Plo Koon is easily the greatest fighter pilot from the Clone Wars-era. He is also the Jedi responsible for bringing Ahsoka Tano to the order, which is a feat in of itself. The Jedi Order might advise against attachments, but their teacher and student bond is one of the more wholesome aspects of the Clone Wars. He is very troubled with how Ahsoka’s trial was treated, but he maintains his duty to protect the galaxy.
Unfortunately, given his gift for flying, Plo was eventually gunned down by his own clone soldiers in the midst of battle. Some fans have foolishly claimed that Plo could have survived his crash, but there is absolutely no way. Aside from his impressive flight skills, Plo Koon also has access to a completely unique and forbidden Force ability known as electic judgment. It is essentially the light version of Force Lightening and is an incredibly rare ability within the Jedi Order, especially at the time of the Clone Wars.

Mace Windu Created His Own Variation of the Lightaber Form, Juyo
Vapaad Remains the Greatest Tool in Windu’s Arsenal
Mace Windu perfectly walks the balance of light and dark, denoted by his unique Lightsaber color. Although Samuel L. Jackson originally requested the color for his character, it has taken on a much deeper meaning. In truth, Windu is Yoda’s second-in-command and arguably the greatest lightsaber combatant in the Order, at least offensively. He is one of the strongest force users of the Clone Wars, which is only further exacerbated by the uniqueness of his connection.
Since Windu experiments with both Light and Dark sides of the Force, he fosters a much greater understanding than any of his peers. Mace Windu easily would’ve killed Darth Sidious if not for Anakin’s intervention. His use of Vapaad, a unique variation of the Juyo lightsaber form, was nothing like Sidius had ever dueled, giving him a clear edge. Sadly, Anakin had already fallen too far, and Windu’s momentary blood thirst sent the Chosen One over the edge. In the end, the thing that killed Mace Windu was his lack of compassion, which is rather ironic for a Jedi.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is the Greatest Defensive Combatant in the Entire Franchise
Kenobi’s Mastery of Soresu Remains Unquestioned
Obi-Wan Kenobi might not seem like much, but he is the very epidemy of what it means to be a Jedi. He is also one of the greatest lightsaber duelists of all time, especially defensively. His mastery of Soresu is absolutely unquestioned, and he is the definitive user of it throughout the franchise. There is simply no way to break through Obi-Wan’s defenses, especially at his peak. Kenobi regularly duels Grievous throughout the Clone Wars, and lives to tell the tale.
Lucasfilm Would Be Making Another Terrible Decision If Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Didn’t Include This Character
Lucasfilm has to feature this classic Star Wars character in the next season of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Kenobi is tasked with training Anakin, upon Qui-Gon Jin’s death, and his first success against a Sith Lord. Not many aside from Obi-Wan can say they killed a full-fledged Sith before they were even knighted. He not only leads Anakin to the Jedi Order, but eventually brings Anakin’s son down the same path. Withou Obi-Wan Kenobi, Star Wars simply wouldn’t have happened.

Anakin Skywalker is the Literal Chosen One, But Never Given the Rank of Master
Anakin Was Meant to Bring Balance to the Force
Anakin Skywalker is the chosen one, and the one destined to bring balance to the force. Although the young Jedi eventually falls before he can fully defeat the Sith, he is vastly successful during the Clone Wars. He might not be given the rank of Master, but he is easily deserving of that title. One of the only reasons Anakin was never given the distinction is his closeness to Chancellor Palpatine. Nevertheless, he is easily one of the most skilled Jedi of all time.
Star Wars Battlefront 2: Best Anakin Skywalker Star Cards, Ranked
With the right Star Cards equipped, Anakin Skywalker proves why he’s the Chosen One in Star Wars Battlefront 2.
Skywalker is described in battle as a natural disaster. His mastery of the Force is so potent that he has done the impossible more than once throughout the franchise. Even though he eventually becomes the evil Darth Vader, he does a lot of good during his time as a Jedi. Moreover, it can be argued that the force intended for him to fall and be redeemed the entire time, fulfilling the ancient prophecy tied to the Skywalker name once and for all.

Yoda is the Jedi Grandmaster for a Reason
Yoda is the Living Embodiment of a Jedi Master
At first glance, Yoda seems like an absolute pushover. The elderly Jedi often plays up that fact too, appearing intentionally weaker and often slightly insane. Yet, when push comes to shove, there is no more powerful Jedi, especially in the Republic Era. Yoda’s mastery of the force is so complete that he has been chosen to lead the Jedi Order for several centuries. In that time, he has amassed more wisdom and practical skill than any other Jedi in the franchise.
Yoda isn’t infallible, and he often likes to think too much before acting. However, when he does make decisions, they are usually enacted with the utmost speed and care. He has trained some of the most powerful Jedi in the entire franchise, and could probably defeat many of them well into their peak. He might be small and green, but Yoda is living proof that sometimes tiny is mighty.
