Speaking to IGN, Saber Interactive's creative director Tim Willits confirmed that Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival has been officially granted an ESRB rating with zero edits. Willitis stated that the team “had to charge nothing” for the game to clear the ratings review board, meaning there were no requests from the ESRB for Saber to cut any content before Hellraiser: Revival passes the final legal checks before launch. Tim Willitis noted that Saber is currently working with other rating groups, and the team “will do really well” in realizing “a mature game for mature audiences”. He previously mentioned to IGN that Saber wants to go “as far as [they] possibly can” by staying true to the graphic horror and sexual nature of Hellraiser franchise, so fans of extremely gory horror games can have a delightfully harrowing experience.
The early look trailers for Hellraiser: Revival has already featured plenty of sexuality and violence, in equal measure, reflecting the BDSM influences and themes of the iconic horror series.
