Aqua Hoshino

For a character like Aqua Hoshino, who spent so much time avenging his mother's death, it would have been natural to expect a conclusion that rewarded his efforts and sacrifices. Aqua not only entered the entertainment industry as an actor against his will, but he also carefully orchestrated every step of his career to get closer to the truth behind Ai's murder by manipulating a lot of people.

While Aqua completed his lifelong mission to honor Ai and protect Ruby, he lost the chance to start over and live a long and happy life. Instead of getting together with Kana Arima and entering medical school, he ends up losing his life in the process of tying up the very vengeance that defined him.

Kana Arima

The child prodigy, Kana Arima, had so many regrets at the end of Oshi no Koespecially with her love-hate relationship with Aqua Hoshino. Since they were young, Kana has admired Aqua's acting skills and admits that his talent is superior to her own. These feelings eventually developed into infatuation and love, with Kana gradually realizing that her admiration was not just professional respect.

Unfortunately, Kana did not get a happy ending with Aqua, as the latter chose to sacrifice her life to finally get her revenge. She didn't get a chance to properly confess to Aqua, leaving her to wrestle alone with the weight of her feelings and the reality that some connections can never be mended. They were supposed to end up as a couple, but the ending robbed them of that opportunity.

Ai Hoshino

All her life, Ai Hoshino has struggled to understand what love is. After all, she's never really felt loved the way most people do. Her mother abandoned her, and even as she rose to stardom, she clung to the hope that one day she would learn to both love and be loved by others. It was only through her twin babies that Ai experienced a glimpse of unconditional love.

Still, Ai was deeply afraid that her feelings for her children might be a lie, that the love she felt wasn't real or strong enough. Instead of getting a real chance to pass on her affection to her children, her life was cut short when she was killed by Ryosuke Sugano, setting her children on the path of revenge. Had she only survived, Aqua and Ruby might have carried her love with them in a different way.

Hikaru Kamiki

Most of the conflict in Oshi no Ko can be traced to Hikaru Kamiki, who was revealed to be Ruby and Aqua's biological father. He was the person who ran Kamiki Productions, which financed Kaburagi and Gotanda's film about Ai's life. Behind this facade, he was manipulative and self-serving, using his influence in the entertainment industry to make Ai the biggest star in the industry even if it meant exploiting other people for his obsession with her.

A big reason why Hikaru Kamiki behaved this way was because of his traumatic experience at the hands of Airi Himekawa, who abused him at such a young age. Not only did the experience claim his innocence, but it also fueled his drive for control and manipulative behavior, especially towards Ai.

While Hikaru ends up dying alongside his son, he could have suffered differently without pulling Aqua down. For many fans, Hikaru could have been imprisoned in the end.

Akane Kurokawa

Akane Kurokawa is one of the characters who really loved Aqua no matter what happened. She was willing to kill for him and shoulder his burdens, risking her life and even her career to protect Aqua. Her loyalty to him went beyond mere affection, for she understood the darkness that haunted her boyfriend. She accepted him completely, flaws and all.

Unfortunately, no matter how far Akane went for Aqua, her devotion could only do so little to change his tragic course. Until the end, Akane remained by his side, only to lose him again. Although she became a famous actress in the finale, no amount of recognition or success could replace the love she had with Aqua. This is precisely why fans believe that Akane should have met someone new, someone who could fill the void that Aqua left in her heart.

Ruby Hoshino

Of the Hoshino twins, Ruby most closely resembles her mother in both looks and ambitions in life. Not only did Ruby bring B-Komachi back to stardom, but she also achieved Ai's dream of performing in the Big Dome. She even flawlessly portrayed her mother in Gotanda's film, impressively capturing Ai's essence despite her lack of previous acting experience.

Despite Ruby's success, she lost everyone close to her heart, except for Miyako and Ichigo, who, as fans know, served as her guardians for most of the story. From losing her former life, Gorou Amamiya, to Ai and Aqua, Ruby believed she carried a curse that bound her to tragedy and loss.

Miyako Saito

For most people Oshi no KoMiyako Saito shouldered all responsibility for the Hoshino twins, along with running the business for Strawberry Productions herself. She was an incredibly strong woman with great ambitions, but her strength often came at a personal cost, be it her personal happiness or relationships.

While Miyako eventually recaptured Ichigo as her partner in crime, she deserves to live the life she wanted for herself in the first place. After all, she sacrificed so much to protect the twins despite the personal hardships she herself endured along the way.
