Hit & Run Studios' New Website Boosts Remaster Hopes

The Simpsons: Hit & Run is high on the list of games fans want a remake of. While some have been asking for it for over a decade, others have created their own versions, but kept it to themselves for fear of legal issues. While anticipation for a remake has simmered down a bit, the studio's latest rebranding has brought it back up a notch.

Radical Entertainment, the developer behind the kid-friendly GTA, recently rebranded as New Radical Games. The site showcases all the projects it has worked on, including The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Prototype, Scarface: The World is Yours and The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate destruction.

Hit & Remake

The rebranding comes as a result of a merger between Radical Entertainment and Hothead games, which has worked on several mobile titles, including a Civilization 6 port. Understandably, fans of Hit & Run and Prototype have been perking up and discussing what this could mean for possible remakes of the games.

On Reddit, one fan commented: “Prototype getting remastered before Infamous is not what I expected.” That possibility seems more likely now, with the closure of Bluepoint Games and the rebranding of New Radical Games. Others had a funnier take, saying, “Hit & Run 2 before GTA 6.”

With the closure of Bluepoint games, I have officially lost all faith in PlayStation

Bluepoint Games has been shut down by Sony after they acquired the studio several years ago.

Comments on Resetera followed suit, with some saying: “I'm here for the Hit 'n Run and Scarface remakes.” The Simpsons characters are quite prominent on the site, so it's not something the studio shys away from either.

Of course, this rebranding in no way means we're getting a remake of any of the studio's games. However, it would be a good way to reintroduce yourself to the industry. Figuring out the licenses will probably be the biggest hurdle at this point.
