Resident Evil Requiem Leaker Addresses Ada's Status in the New Game

As the audience counts down the last days to the launch of Resident Evil Requiem on February 27, one of the most prominent leaks in the Resident Evil community has responded to rumors of franchise favorites Ada Wong and Chris Redfield potentially making a big return in the new game, though fans may be disappointed to learn that the alleged characters' appearances are a “fake leak.” Resident Evil Requiem has already officially confirmed the long-awaited return of Leon S. Kennedy, who will star alongside new protagonist Grace Ashcroft, and despite widespread speculation about Ada and Leon's connections throughout the franchise and the undeniable importance of Chris Redfield, fans should wait to expect to see either of the two in Requiem.

Capcom certainly took longer than many expected to officially reveal Leon as one of the playable characters in the Resident Evil Requiemespecially after many leaks regarding his expected presence and potential game features were widely shared in online spaces. Understandably, Capcom didn't just want to give Grace her own time in the spotlight, but the studio no doubt preferred to build extra hype and anticipation ahead of Leon's long-awaited confirmation as one of the leads in Requiem. Even with both Leon and Grace in the center Resident Evil Requiemfranchise fans have been keeping their fingers crossed for additional surprise appearances from other series members. Unfortunately, the latest comments from one of the most famous Resident Evil leaks have seemingly dashed all hopes for the rumored return of two beloved characters.

Resident Evil Requiem is getting an encouraging update ahead of its launch next month

Resident Evil Requiem is passing a subtle but important milestone ahead of its February 2026 release, and it may come as a sigh of relief for fans.

Resident Evil Requiem Ada Wong and Chris Redfield Rumor is 'Fake'

In response to a rumor falsely crediting him as a source, Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem has shut down a “fake leak” that claimed Ada Wong and Chris Redfield would appear in Resident Evil Requiem. The Dusk Golem clearly stated that he does not believe that “Chris or Ada are in it Resident Evil Requiem at all … at least in any meaningful way.” In response to follow-up questions, he reminded fans of that RequiemThe director's director has already spoken out in an official capacity saying that Chris would not be in the game, although Dusk Golem acknowledged the possibility of Chris or Ada being mentioned in a file or similar off-handed reference or easter egg. While the Dusk Golem has mentioned “murmur” by an elder Resident Evil character that makes a surprise appearance in a potential Resident Evil Requiem DLC, he remains adamant that neither Ada nor Chris will appear in Requiem “from what [he’s] heard.”

It's important to remember that any details about a game, even from leaks that have been right in the past, remain nothing more than rumors and speculation until an official announcement has been made by the developer. As such, there is currently no absolute way of knowing who will or will not appear Resident Evil Requiemoutside of the already confirmed characters and the official comment that Chris is not in the game. That said, the story and setting of Resident Evil Requiem could open up the possibility of a familiar face returning, so interested fans will want to keep an eye out for further updates ahead of the game's launch.

After Resident Evil 7 and Village focused on series newcomer Ethan Winters, it's understandable that longtime fans are hoping to see more than just Leon S. Kennedy make a triumphant return in Requiem. Whether these wishes will be fulfilled remains to be seen, although the confirmed presence of the Umbrella Corporation i Resident Evil Requiem has many hopeful that the upcoming game will have more than Leon and Raccoon City to offer for a return to form. Resident Evil Requiem launches for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 27.
