Reports are pouring into it Fortnite is currently down. Fortnite players have taken to social media to share their grievances, with reports pouring in from around the world.
The Christmas holidays are a good time for many gamers, as most get time off from school or work to spend playing games. However, outages can be a serious problem even during the holidays, with major outages affecting players, such as Steam going down on Christmas Eve.
How to get Santa Sabrina Carpenter in Fortnite
Sabrina Carpenter now has her own holiday skin in Fortnite – here's how much it costs and what it looks like.
Fortnite is down on Christmas Eve
Unfortunately, Christmas Eve has seen issues for players outside of Steam as well, as players report being unable to access Fortnite. According to Down Detector, it looks like the game started receiving widespread reports that it was down starting around 5:00 PM PT, reaching 25,000 reports at one point.
This outage has been acknowledged by Epic Games as of 6:00pm PT, stating that the game is a “major outage” specific to login. According to Epic, the problem also extends to Rocket League and Autumn guys. The developers are currently working on a fix, and as of 7:04 PM PT, the developers warned that implementing the fix may result in some players going offline. If players are active in the game, get kicked, and can't log back in, they should consider keeping an eye on the Epic Games status page to see when a fix is finally implemented and everything is back to normal.
Unfortunately, for many fans, this break couldn't have come at a much worse time. In addition to cutting back on Christmas gaming time, gamers have been eagerly awaiting the long-rumored addition of IShowSpeed to Fortnite. The bundle is available now, which includes two IShowSpeed skins, Speed Cam, two Emblems, Barrier Breaker emote, Speed's Triden, IShow's Speedboard, ISpeedStyle wrap, and Head Shot/Gas in the Truck Jam Track for 3,000 V-Bucks. Thankfully, players have until January 3rd to purchase it, but since many players have been waiting for this moment, it's frustrating to find the game unplayable.
