House of the Dragon has introduced fans to quite a few exciting characters, especially those from the Targaryen family. Of course, this entire series surrounds the civil war within House Targaryen, the Greens and the Blacks.
During this time, House Targaryen was at the height of its powers, with many powerful dragon riders. Fans have already seen many riders and dragons fight together in the series, showcasing the strength of their bond. Of all of them, however, only a handful can stand out at the top.
Baela-Moondancer
Baela is the daughter of Prince Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon. She bonded with Moondancer at a very young age, and these two are very connected. They make a great duo and can wipe out the vast majority of riders in battle.
Baela is incredibly powerful with Moondancer. In fact, fans have already seen what she is capable of, and later on, she will definitely fight in more amazing battles that will definitely highlight her strength as an incredible dragon rider, as well as her bond with Moondancer.
Aegon II-Sunfyre
Aegon II Targaryenusurping Rhaenyra Targaryen may not be the strongest, but he makes a pretty formidable duo with his dragon, Sunfyre. Fans know that Sunfyre is the most magnificent dragon ever seen in Game of Thrones history.
Although not the biggest or strongest, Sunfyre is still formidable, and with Aegon, Sunfyre is nearly unstoppable. Their connection is quite special and that's what makes them a very exciting duo in battle.
Rhaenyra-Syrax
Rhaenyra Targaryen bonded with Syrax long agoand it's safe to say she's one of the most special dragonriders fans have seen in history.
In fact, Rhaenyra was the first dragon rider that fans got a glimpse of House of the Dragonwith Syrax being the very first dragon to appear in the series. Rhaenyra and Syrax form a special bondand it is almost as if they are connected telepathically. The two feel pain together, they are one in the face of every threat.
Rhaenys-Meleys
Of all the dragons fans have seen in House of the Dragon, Meleys is still the fastest of them all. She is also quite old, making her a formidable dragon in battle. Meleys was ridden by Rhaenys Targaryenand fans know these two are pretty special.
Together, they can take down even the most ferocious foes, but fans must remember that none of them are the strongest in the series individually, or as a duo.
Aemond-Vhagar
Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar form a formidable duo it is easily one of the strongest in Westeros. It is a fact that Vhagar is the strongest dragon in Westeros at this time, due to being a hardened survivor of many battles, and also the largest alive right now. Vhagar can swallow a dragon whole and burn a city in minutes. It is truly a terrifying dragon and definitely the strongest force in all of Westeros right now.
Aemond's bond with Vhagar isn't that strong though, and there have been better dragon rider bonds that fans have seen in the series. Still, Aemond can take down almost anyone, and being defeated in battle is almost out of the question for them. The most anyone can do against them is either team up with someone else to defeat them, or draw a battle somehow. Otherwise, both Aemond and Vhagar are simply unbeatable.
Daemon-Caraxes
Daemon Targaryen and Caraxes are a formidable duo and definitely one of the most dangerous in Westeros. Caraxes is neither the biggest nor the strongest dragon in Westeros. But it's definitely the hardest. The Bloodwyrm is ridden by Daemon Targaryen, who mirrors his own personality, and together these two share a bond beyond all understanding.
While Caraxes may not be the strongest on their own, with Daemon, they are a force to be reckoned with, so even Vhagar and Aemond couldn't go on to defeat them, despite having a strength advantage in battle. Clearly, Daemon and Caraxes are the most dangerous dragonrider dragon duo fans have seen in all of House of the Dragon thus far. Of course, as the series continues, fans will get to see more of these powerful duos, which can then be added here.
