This post contains spoilers for One Piece.
The One Piece The manga has finally moved on from the God Valley flashback and returned to the story of King Harald. When the flashback began, fans had no idea that Eiichiro Oda would finally reveal the truth about the infamous incident involving some of the biggest names in history One Piece.
One Piece: Every Character Who's Been Domi Reversi'd
Imus Domi Reversi is arguably the most broken ability in One Piece. Here's a look at everyone who has fallen victim to it so far.
With God Valley destroyed, the author focuses on Harald. The ruler of Elbaf was devastated by the news of Xebec's death, and it made him do something drastic. Shortly after learning of his best friend's fate, Harald traveled to Naval Headquarters to meet with the higher-ups because he wanted to make Elbaf a member state of the World Government.

He was eventually promoted
On the last page of Chapter 1166, Harald told the Marines that he was willing to do anything to erase Elbaf's dark history. He even broke the horns to show his seriousness. Imu was aware of Harald's wishes, and they tried to exploit this. It is likely that Imu ordered the five elders to communicate with Harald and turn him into their obedient servant.
I want a chance to atone for our sins. If that means I have to be a slave, so be it. — Harald
After receiving instructions from the senior leaders, Harald set off and immediately set to work. He began targeting ships and sending them to the depths of the ocean. Harald's efforts helped the marines get rid of pirates and other criminals, who were responsible for causing chaos. Due to his efforts, Harald was soon promoted to the position of devoted blade. He was part of the Shallow's Covenant, which was proof of his loyalty to Imu and the World Government.
After receiving the mark, the five elders explained to Harald how there were two other covenants superior to his own. They revealed that only 13 people were selected, after which they made a contract with the True God. The last bit about the True God puzzled Harald.
Imu is the true god of One Piece World
Although Harald may have been unaware, most One Piece already know who the five elders were referring to. They were of course talking about Imu, who is considered the true sovereign of the world government. Imu is an enigmatic individual who appears to have several supernatural abilities. For starters, they can turn any person into an obedient demonic slave with the help of Domi Reversi. The true nature of the ability is unknown, but it appears to be some form of magic.
Imu also has the option of entering into agreements with individuals. Whoever enters the Deep Alliance and the Abyssal Alliance with Imu is given immortality and renewal. But there is a steep price for this exchange. In fact, the only way to gain these powers is to give up ownership of one's body. For example, Imu immediately grabbed Gunko's body in Elbaf to stop her from rushing towards Brook. Or during the God Valley Incident, when Imu manifested in Saturn's body and tried to fight the pirates.
Imu can also give Devil Fruits to other people, which explains why all high-ranking officers in the World Government and Marines have insanely overpowered abilities. The Five Elders have Zoan-type Mythical Devil Fruits, while the Admirals get Logia-type Devil Fruits. Considering that Imu can do so many things, the people of the One Piece world are not wrong to call them the True God.
Imu's life is still a mystery to the readers
The Imu were introduced a long time ago in the story, but there is still much that the audience does not know about them. Currently, only a handful of details have been confirmed regarding Imu, and one of them is related to their last name. According to Ivankov, Imu's last name is Nerona, and as expected, it was one of the twenty families that banded together to destroy the Ancient Kingdom. It is also likely that the Imu have been alive since the Void Century, and as such they know everything about the world's history. They likely interacted with other prominent historical figures such as Joyboy and Davy D. Jones, who appear to be connected.
Saturn… Joy Boy was behind the escape, and you let it happen. — Imu
Based on Imu's reactions, they despise both of them, especially Davy D. Jones, whom Xebec called the King of the World. When Xebec mentioned Jones, Imu flew into a fit of rage, strongly implying that the latter interacted with the legendary pirate. As the story progresses, there is no doubt that Oda will reveal more details about Imu, including their entire past.
