68 years after Gojo's fall, Gege Akutami confirms the new strongest wizard in Jujutsu Kaisen
Gojo was Japan's strongest sorcerer, but that's not the case anymore. Japan has a new number 1 in JJK Modulo.
While both Yuji Itadori and Nobara are currently confirmed to be alivethe best and most popular character in the franchise, that is, Megumi Fushiguro, may very well be dead. His death was heavily implied JJK Modulo chapter 13, and it has surprised quite a few fans.
Megumi Fushiguro's death is heavily hinted at in Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo
IN JJK Modulo chapter 13, a death match was set between the alien race and the humans. The winner would officially gain control of Tokyo, which is where the cursed spirits reside. If the aliens manage to win this battle to the death, they will establish their own country in Tokyo and take care of the cursed spirits themselves. If the wizards win, they will of course continue their annual exorcisms in Tokyo.
The last time I saw him was at Hana's funeral. He said he wouldn't go to any more funerals. He might look like a musclehead but he's too sensitive, you know. He just can't bear to see anyone else. It was a little too hard on me too. After all, he can't age, you know? — Nobara Kugisaki on Yuji Itadori, JJK Modulo Chapter 13
The wizards wanted Yuji to stand in this battle, but he is nowhere to be found. When Nobara was consulted about his whereabouts, she clearly stated that Yuji was tired of all the people around him dying one by one. This means that Yuji has already lost some loved ones, and that one of those losses was so profound that he actually shut himself off from society. Clearly, the closest bond Yuji had in the story was none other than Megumiand if he died, that explains why Yuji is now isolated.

It has also been confirmed that Hana recently passed away. As fans know, Hana and Megumi were always togetherand Gege even set them up as a large ship at the end of the story. Nobara calling Hana by her first name means that she was actually very close to her towards the end. It could also have been done to hide the fact that Hana took the surname Fushiguro. After Hana's death, Yuji officially cut off contact with all his friends as they died one by one and he was in pain.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Gege has already set up the main character's death
JJK's main character is going to die, and fans are heartbroken.
Megumi is likely already dead in JJK Modulo
In JJK Modulo Chapter 13, the fact that Megumi was not consulted when the search for Yuji was going on confirms that he is not actually around. Nobara is still going, while Yuji simply cannot age. Megumi and Hana both seem to have died, as did Yuta and Maki.
Any word on where Yuji Itadori is? Looks like we haven't had any luck finding him. This is a big problem. — Japanese wizard elites on finding Yuji Itadori
No matter how fans look at it, the evidence is right in their faces. It is Megumi's death that depressed Yujiconsidering they were best friends and soul mates.
Eventually, though Yuji will be able to advance to the other world. This is because he will most likely die at the hands of Dabura, allowing him to fulfill his grandfather's wish and finally rest in peace.
