Turok Origins is reportedly coming in 2026

If you're a fan of dinosaurs, it's pretty hard to live in the great 2025, all things considered. Between a lack of video games, mediocre movies like Jurassic World Rebirth, and just a general malaise around the extinct creatures, it's tough.

That said, things could get better with Turok Origins, the first true new entry in the once-Nintendo 64 franchise since the reboot in 2008. Announced at last year's edition of The Game Awards, the franchise is making a comeback via Saber Interactive, the team that brought us Space Marine 2, a revival of Warhammer-centric 10 that last appeared in third-person 10.

Space Marine 3 captures a moment in time that has long left us behind.

Its comeback could happen as soon as 2026 if the latest reporting is to be believed.

2026 is getting more and more stacked, and my wallet continues to cry with each passing day

As first reported by MP1st, a sound designer at Saber Interactive currently working on Turok Origins has noted on his LinkedIn profile page that the game is “coming” in 2026. A more concrete window isn't listed, though it appears Saber is keeping its prospects open.

Nothing official has been revealed yet, but remember that this year's edition of The Game Awards takes place in just 11 days. In other words, if there was ever a good time to rediscover the game with a release date, now is probably it. After all, the original reveal happened right at the same event.

Earlier this year, TheGamer's Jade King got a chance to preview the game, noting that it has a “killer aesthetic” and a solid soundtrack, but it's a push for a co-op experience that drags things down considerably.

“If this was positioned as a new single-player experience, instead of a by-the-numbers co-op shooter, part of me is convinced it could have been something special,” read part of Jade's preview. “But the sad truth is that everything about it is dry, predictable and representative of industry trends that I wish would go away.”

Here's hoping that if the game is ready for release next year, the final product is a little better than what we've seen. Then again, we dinosaur fans have been used to disappointment.
