The first volume of Assassin's Creed Shadows: Tales of Iga is now available in English. The prequel manga offers a closer look at the world of Assassin's Creed Shadows through the perspective of the titular shinobi village at the heart of the game's story.
The official manga was originally announced in February 2025, a month before Assassin's Creed Shadows' critically acclaimed release. At the time, Ubisoft had only confirmed a release date for Japan, where the series debuted on March 20, 2025, the same day as the AAA game it's based on. Created by Japanese manga artist Regujie, Tales of Iga has since been followed up on Weekly Young Magazine's Yanmaga website ever since.

Assassin's Creed Shadows: Tales of Iga Vol. 1 Launches at $14.99
With 27% launch discount on Digital Edition
VIZ Media officially released the English language version of Assassin's Creed Shadows: Tales of Iga Vol. 1 on June 16. The manga retails for $14.99 in both paperback and digital formats. Amazon is currently offering a launch promotion that drops the Kindle edition to $10.99, a 27% discount. The deal doesn't appear to have a listed end date, but its framing as a launch discount suggests it won't be available for long.
The first volume of Tales of Iga comprises 192 pages. The series will conclude with volume 2, which is currently scheduled for an English-language release on November 17, 2026. The Japanese collected volume and its French translation were already released in March and June 2026, respectively.

Manga history Assassin's Creed has developed less as a unified publishing line than as a series of targeted regional experiments built around Ubisoft's most marketable historical settings. The franchise's English-language manga push began in 2017 with Assassin's Creed: AwakeningTitan Manga's two-part adaptation of the Black flag. It made Edward Kenway the series' first major English-language manga protagonist, years before Ubisoft returned to the character through Forgotten Temple. The final volume of Forgotten Temple is scheduled to receive its English language release on August 18, 2026, just over a month after Assassin's Creed: Black Flag resynced launched on July 9.
Given Ubisoft's track record, it's likely that the upcoming Assassin's Creed codename Hexe will also get a tie-in manga. The next main entry in the open-world series is estimated to have entered pre-production in 2022, although it still lacks an official release window four years later. However, the latest reports indicate that the project is internally targeting a June 2027 launch.
