Bungie provides Destiny 2 fans get their first look at the new exotic weapons and armor coming in the Renegades expansion. As expected, most of the Destiny 2 the equipment shown is Bungie's version of the classic Star Wars arms.
It is well known Destiny 2 isn't doing too well at the moment, with the game's Steam numbers dwindling to dangerous levels for a live service title. Even longtime community members like Datto and Gladd have even stepped away and chosen to take a break from the game. But there is still hope that the Renegades expansion, which will be released in December, can rekindle the excitement that has seemingly been lost to players.
Destiny 2 Renegades exotic weapons and armor
Narrated by the NPC Spider, the Destiny 2 Renegade's trailer begins its reveals with new Star Wars-inspired weapons that players will be able to acquire. Uncivil Discourse is clearly inspired by Han Solo's DL-44 pistol, while the A499 heavy sniper rifle looks a lot like The Mandalorians Amban rifle. Additionally, Bungie showed off the modified B-7 pistol, all or nothing pulse rifle, Compact Defender sidearm, and M-17 Fast Talker SMG.
The Praxic Sword is a kinetic based weapon, clearly inspired by the Lightsaber from the Star Wars series. The Heirloom, a crossbow-shaped weapon that fires powerful explosive bolts, also appears to be based on Chewbacca's Boltcaster.
As for armor, the trailer also gave fans a good look at the exotic armor coming for Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans. First up is Fortune's Favor leg armor for hunters, which charges the shield over time into an overshield. Warlocks gain Deimosuffusion, which interrupts enemies near the player and deals damage over time. For most players, these two exotics seem a bit underwhelming because they either have mechanics that are already in the game or aren't the flashiest. Many hope that there is another layer to discover each time Destiny 2 Renegade's expansion launches.
Finally, and the item that seems to be generating the most attention, is the Titan's Praxic Vestment. The exotic gear gives Titan players an advanced tactical air move that many have emulated Anthems Javelin flight suits. However, some have made the connection that Praxic Vestment is Bungie's new take on the highly requested Fate exotic known as Twilight Garrison. Instead of adding it as is, Bungie has seemingly tweaked it to be something potentially better.
