A new free trial on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 coming later this week and will be available until early November 2025. The timing, combined with Activision's latest marketing strategy, suggests the upcoming Black Ops 6 the trial is intentionally scheduled to debut alongside the launch of Battlefield 6 Season 1.
The Battlefield 6 the marketing team has thrown shade at Call of Duty since before the game's release on October 10, the long-standing rivalry between the two series continues. Battlefield 6 Season 1 now begins on Tuesday, October 28.
Black Ops 6 announces second free trial since Battlefield 1 launched
Black Ops 6 will get a free trial on the same day, Activision has announced. The campaign will offer access to Zombies and other multiplayer modes. It is scheduled to run for exactly one week and end on November 4th. The promotional offer has not been officially positioned as a response to DICE's launch of Season 1. However, it marks the second Black Ops 6 free trial to coincide with a Battlefield 6 event, following a previous offer that overlapped with the game's launch week – making Activision's intent appear clear.
New Black Ops 6 Free Trial Information

The trial version itself will offer access to 10 multiplayer mods spanning 40 maps in total. The Black Ops 6 The Halloween event that started in the first half of October will also be fully playable during the promotional period. Meanwhile, Zombies will be limited to Directed Mode, which provides detailed mission instructions to help newcomers get up to speed. This comes at the cost of side activities being disabled, as well as a round cap of 15. While therefore not suitable for the high-level play that Standard offers, Directed Mode is the most accessible introduction to Black Ops 6 version of Zombies on offer, making it an obvious inclusion in the upcoming free trial.
Black Ops 6 Ranked play will not be available as part of the promotion, which is consistent with how Call of Duty game attempts worked lately. No exact timing for the new campaign has yet been given, but Activision's track record indicates it could begin in the early morning (PT) of October 28. If the publisher chooses to really sync it with the start of Battlefield 6 Season 1, then the test period will go live at 8:00am PT / 11:00am ET / 4:00pm CET. However, the last such event from the first half of October started an hour later.
