We may not know when we'll get a new Fallout game, but that doesn't mean fans of the series don't have reason to celebrate. Fallout Day, the day the bombs were dropped on the series, rolls around again this Thursday, and McFarlane Toys will be opening pre-orders for a new wave of action figures to celebrate.
McFarlane revealed the five new figures on Tuesday, all of which are modeled after characters and creatures from the Fallout TV show. Specifically, season two of the show, which will begin streaming on Amazon Prime in December. The most notable of the five reveals is McFarlane's Deathclaw figure, as it offers the best look we've seen yet of how the monster will be portrayed in live-action.
This is what Deathclaws will look like in Fallout Season 2
While Deathclaws were confirmed to be a threat in season one of the show, they were only referenced via skulls. Basically an easter egg for those who have dealt with them in the games. We've been shown one live in a trailer for Fallout season two, but even that was just an extreme close-up to let us know they're coming.
McFarlane's Deathclaw action figure shows us what the rogue super soldiers will look like on the show in all their terrifying glory. While it is unmistakably a Deathclaw and looks enough like the creatures from the games, there are some noticeable differences. The horns are longer and the figure is much more upright than Deathclaws usually are in the games. We don't know which Deathclaw variants will be in the show, nor what type this Deathclaw is based on, but it looks like an alpha male to me.
The Deathclaw action figure stands six inches tall and stands on an environmental base. It also comes with a mini poster background and a secret bonus item. Another familiar face (does it technically have a face?) from the games that will be making its live-action debut in Fallout season two, getting an action figure is Securitron. It is also six inches tall and comes with the same extras as the Deathclaw.
Joining them in McFarlane's Fallout Day action figures are returning characters from season one. Lucy's figure fights back with a bottle of Nuka Cola, and Maximus and Hank's new figures are decked out in Power Armor. All five figures will be available to pre-order either through Amazon or Walmart starting this Thursday. Pricing details have yet to be revealed.
