Gohan's Most OP Moments In The Anime, Ranked

Dragon Ball is one of the most legendary anime ever created. Highly regarded as the greatest of all time, Dragon Ball has a long history spanning forty years and has continued to expand its universe with new stories and characters. The late Akira Toriyama will be a permanent figure in anime history who paved the way for every writer who came after him.

It is widely known that Goku is the strongest character in the Dragon Ball series. However, there are many others who possess just as much power who have accomplished amazing feats throughout the series. One of the most popular characters is Goku's son, Gohan. While Gohan may not be the fighter his father is, he still has a sizable list of accomplishments, which makes him more impressive given that some of his most OP moments occurred when he was a child. Here are some of Gohan's most overpowered moments in Dragon Ball series.

Gohan vs. Bojack

One of Gohan's most impressive moments

The Dragon Ball films are not directly considered canon, but ignore their contribution to the legacy of Dragon Ball would do them a disservice. At the top of the list, one of Gohan's most impressive moments is his fight against the alien space pirate Bojack.

As a result of the coincidence, Bojack found himself on Earth and continued to wreak havoc. The Z fighters quickly met him on the battlefield, minus Goku but including future Trunks. Bojack tore through Earth's protection, putting them on in one go and barely breaking a sweat. It wasn't until Gohan released his limits that he turned the tables on Bojack and his posse, wiping them out in an instant.

Gohan decimates The Cell Jr's

Cell's tournament goes off the hinges

One of Gohan's most defining arcs was during the Cell Saga. The perfect android had built a tournament to decide the fate of the world and offered the Z-fighters a chance to fight for their survival. The final battle came down to Gohan vs. Cell, a clash filled with unexpected moments, including Gohan being the first to achieve Super Saiyan 2.

Pushed to the edge after seeing his loved ones beaten and bruised, once Gohan let go of his boundaries, he also let go of his restraint. Cell Jr.s were taken out with single punches showing how strong Gohan had become in a short amount of time.

Overwhelming card Frieza's second form

Gohan oversteps his limits against Frieza

Frieza is one of the most unfortunate villains of all Dragon Ball. After fighting nearly every living Saiyan, one of Freiza's most shocking assaults came at the hands of a young Gohan on Namek. Freiza had transformed into his second form and started playing with Krillin, Gohan and Vegeta.

Unfortunately, Frieza pushed Gohan too far by impaling Krillin and tossing him aside like trash. Enraged, Gohan surprised even Vegeta when he tried to end the arc early and take out Frieza himself, coming closer than anyone expected.

Gohan unleashes his full potential against Super Buu

The new and improved Gohan makes light work of Super Buu

During the Buu Saga, Gohan went through a number of changes and adventures. One of them took him to the realm of the Supreme Kai, which unlocked Gohan's potential and gave him unparalleled power. Gohan's newfound strength in his ultimate form rendered his Super Saiyan transformation obsolete and remains one of the character's most famous transformations.

When Gohan arrived on Earth, he confronted Super Buu, who had seemed unbeatable up to this point. In a shocking display, Gohan made Buu look like a child and outclassed him in strength, speed and power.

Bowel control Perfect cell

One Punch brings the perfect Android device to its knees

One of Gohan's main achievements is unlocking Super Saiyan 2 during the Cell Saga. Backed into a corner with the weight of the world on his shoulders, Gohan finally snapped at one last request from Android 16, which was quickly revealed by Perfect Cell. Gohan's full strength was enough to make Cell tremble in his presence, but what followed this transformation is one of the most impressive feats in Gohan's history.

With a single punch to Cell's stomach, Gohan nearly rendered the cocky antagonist helpless. Cell's body was dealing with far too much pain and reacted to the blow by forcing him to resurrect Android 18, returning him to his semi-perfect form.

Almost One-Shoting Raditz

A young Gohan almost takes out his uncle

At the beginning of Dragon Ball Z, before the interstellar battles and the divine transformations, Gohan's power was foreshadowed very early on. During Raditz's arrival, Gohan was kidnapped in an attempt to force Goku to submit.

Unfortunately for Raditz, this backfired during his fight against Goku and Piccolo when Gohan lost it, saw his father injured and was helpless to stop him. In a fiery display, Gohan burst out of the Saiyan pod and faced Raditz head on. With a stunning headbutt, Raditz was shocked that he had been overpowered by a child.

Going Beast

Gohan once again oversteps his limits

Dragon Ball: Super Hero reintroduced the Red Ribbon Army to Dragon Ball universe and put Gohan and Piccolo in the spotlight. Many fans considered Gohan wasted on the sidelines, but this movie gave both main characters considerable curiosity about their abilities.

The evil Red Ribbon Army not only made two super soldiers, but even revived the android cell in a terrifying new form. Gohan had to reach deep within himself and unlock a new transformation called Beast. While not much information has been released about this new form, it's impressive to see Gohan achieve something his father hasn't.

Fight Android 17 and 18 with one arm

The alternate timeline Gohan gives it all

The alternate timeline that Future Trunks came to the present to warn the Z Fighters about is one of the grimmest outcomes for Dragon Ball universe. After all the base fighters are defeated, Gohan defends the front line by himself while training a young Trunks, costing him an arm in the process.

The final battle between Future Gohan and the Androids begins, and while the Androids are incredibly powerful, Gohan gives it his all and makes his final stand. One-armed and focused, this is one of Gohan's best moments in the series, even if it ends with his tragic death.
