A punchman Director Shinpei Nagai recently commented on the coming third season in the middle of a firestorm of online criticism that may have some fans worried. Fans of the series have made it to the Internet to vote concern about the quality of season 3, even though it has not been broadcast yet.
Fans began to sue their concerns after the launch of a short teaser for the coming season. The trailer caused many to criticize the animation and overall quality of A punchman Season 3, with some who already think it's a failure. Nagai recently took to X to comment on the development of the last season, and although some may be happy about the director's brilliant, others are worried about his comments.
Nagai's comments come as part of a thread started by the director, updated the fans and said he only had “4 layouts left” and that there would be no “schedule delays, as expected.” A fan then replied by listing some things they hoped to see improves from season 2, including animation and sound effects. After a short back and forth, Nagai responded with a fairly open message about Season 3's development.
No, I think I have come up with the decision and determination to carry the work that you all protect so dear. It may not please you or can even make you angry. But someone has to put on it. I am determined and ready to do it. It probably won't measure up to season 1. But anime is infused with the creator's stretch unit and ingenuity. Please, at least, accept it.
Nowadays, there are many companies that flush with funding from large companies. Much of the talent has been drawn to these places. But as I continue to say, I want to support JC staff, who work to improve working conditions and care for their employees. Stop the harassment and the persistent questions that I cannot answer because of NDA. I ask you, thank you.
The biggest takeaway here for many will be the unfavorable comparison with season 1. However, there are some other things in Nagai's message that can be worrying. Nagai's comments seem to suggest larger companies that make it difficult to promote/acquire talent for studios like JCstaff. There is nothing to say about this had any effect on season 3 of A punchmanAnd Nagai who emphasizes that he cannot say much because of NDAs probably means that we never know for sure. But the fact that it has reached the point where he had to ask the fans to stop harassing and constantly questioning anime decision is heartbreaking.
As much as some can find reason to be worried in Nagai's message, there are plenty there that should have fans hopeful for season 3. Jcstaff looks hard to work on the development of the last season, and Nagai really seems to make an attempt to do something that will do the source material justice.
A punchman Started strongly, with its first season as a big hit with critics and fans. Madhouse did a fantastic job of adapting manganese, and the fans expected anime to be of some quality. Season 2 production was handed over to JCstaff, and fans raised the issue of anime stimulation, animation, sound design and virtually everything else. With the new Season 3 -TEASER that apparently shows some of the same problems that tormented season 2, each hype dies around the coming season quickly.
Nagai's efforts to temperate the fan expectations by being unfavorable compare season 3 to Season 1 may not be the best PR movement, but the director and staff really seem to have done everything to improve what many saw as a weaker second season. At the moment, fans can only wait until October to see if Nagai and Jcstaff can deliver something that is worth being excited about.
