Sony's subscription service marked the 15th anniversary on June 29. Despite the latest price increases, PS Plus is currently growing faster than ever before, with its biggest user gains from its highest, premium level.

Sony has bad news for first score titles on PS PLUS
Playstation Plus shares some hard news for subscribers looking for first party games despite a glowing report on premium customer growth.
In an attempt to celebrate the 15th anniversary of PS Plus, Sony launched a global tournament series to run for over a month, until July 31. Event – called PlayStation Plus 15 Anniversary Cup – Incorporates ten matches, with its first, currently ongoing batch consisting of College Football 25The Fatal Fury: City of the WolvesThe EA Sports FC 25and Mortal Kombat 1. Anyone who registers in the Celebrator Cup will receive a free avatar consisting of the PS PLUS logo of the sign in combination with a “15th anniversary” tag line, placed over a collage of Playstation game cover.

As is the case with all contemporary Esports tournaments organized by Playstation, registration for the recently launched event is available via the PS5 Game Hub. The main requirements for registration are at least 18 years and have an active PS membership, regardless of level. Although Sony's subscription service is still available on PS4, the 15th anniversary cup is only open to PS5 owners. By mid-2025, almost one of five (19%) of PS Plus members still used PS4, so this restriction significantly limits the tournament participant pool.

According to Cup's official rules, the competition is available in most – but not all – of the 69 countries officially supported by the Playstation network. Namely, six PSN countries, including Croatia, are missing in the list of eligible cup participants. The second part of the 15th anniversary cup is scheduled to start on July 10, with Tekken 8The Madden 25and NBA 2K25. The last stretch of the event – incorporating College Football 26The Owe Gear -Trive-and UFC 5– Want to drive during the ten -day period from 21 July.
PS Plus 15 anniversary cup is only available for 18+ PS5 owners with a PS Plus membership in selected countries.
The 15th anniversary Avatar is not the only reward that participants can take up during the month-long event. However, it is the only guaranteed recognition of their registration. Other rewards are gaming, regional and ranking specific. Such prizes will be awarded via digital coupons within several days after the end of the tournament. Winners will be pinged for new arrivals from Playstation System. They should note that these messages expire after 30 days, so log in immediately after the event is crucial to demanding any rewards.
