The duo stumbles on a gigantic Kraken-like monster on the other side of an old portal in the heart of the charteris base, and to cancel the connection to it, Bucky Hawkeye gets to cut off its new tentacle-ridden arm.

The Kraken is defeated, the portal is closed and the base starts to fall around them. But just before Hawkeye and Bucky are crushed, an alternative universe version of Captain America goes through the portal. The three avoid the crumbling base, which ends up in an alternative version of Wakanda where Bucky is talented a new cybernetic arm that improves his new fire.
