7 Strongest Characters as Rival Gogeta, Ranked

Dragon Ball Super: Broly officially introduced the strongest Saiyan and Fusion of all time: Gogeta. The result of Goku and Vegeta performing the Fusion Dance, Gogeta's canonical debut lived up to all the hype as he almost effortlessly defeated the legendary Super Saiyan Broly in one of the best animated fights of Dragon Ball franchise.

Gogeta is not only a martial arts master, his power level is high enough to be as strong as the Gods of Destruction. There aren't many characters in it Dragon Ball that can actually rival Gogeta, and the few that do realistically wouldn't be able to beat him without pushing themselves to the limit. Gogeta is the ultimate warrior, and if he ever reappears, it will be because Goku and Vegeta face an opponent that no one else in the multiverse can beat.

It's the end of an era for Dragon Ball's strongest Saiyans

When the Dragon Ball Super manga finally returns for the Black Frieza Saga, Goku and Vegeta will no longer be the strongest Saiyans in the series.

Broly forced Gogeta to use Super Saiyan Blue to win

Broly has some of the highest potentials in Dragon Ball multiverse. At birth, Broly was so powerful that King Vegeta was terrified that he would one day usurp the Saiyan royal family, so he banished him to Planet Vampa. Even while living in Vampa's harsh conditions, Broly grew into an adult strong enough to fight Saiyans capable of using God Ki. Once Broly transformed into a Super Saiyan, he became so powerful that neither Super Saiyan Blue Goku nor Vegeta could beat him.

The only character in the Dragon Ball Super strong enough to beat Broly was Gogeta. Despite being completely broken and overwhelmed, Gogeta still couldn't beat legendary Super Saiyan Broly is his base or Super Saiyan forms. The fact that Gogeta needed to turn Super Saiyan blue to beat Broly is frankly more impressive for the legendary Super Saiyan. Once Broly trains a bit more and masters his full power, he could potentially give SSB Gogeta a real fight.

Moro is the strongest enemy that Goku has ever fought

The upcoming villain Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime, Moro is a villain who surpasses even the gods with his full power. Moro is a planet eater who can consume the energy of any living thing and increase his power level in the process. During the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Moro literally eats one of his subordinates, Seven-Three, and gains the ability to absorb the powers of his enemies. While fighting Goku, Moro absorbs Vegeta's Saiyan powers and later Meru's angelic powers.

Moro has the distinction of being the only villain in Dragon Ball Super who can use Ultra Instinct. Moro is so powerful that Goku calls him the toughest enemy he's ever fought – meaning Moro was stronger than legendary Super Saiyan Broly. Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku couldn't even beat Moro by himself, requiring Vegeta to use Force Spirit Fission to give Goku Uub's Ki. The power boost Goku receives from Uub suggests that Moro would be a worthy foe for Gogeta.

Granolah became the strongest death league in universe 7

During Granolah the Survivor Saga, Granolal uses Cereal's Dragon Balls to summon the Eternal Dragon Toronbo and wants to become the strongest warrior in Universe 7. Unfortunately, it ends up replacing virtually all of Granolah's remaining life force. As of the end of the story arc, Granolah only has three years left to live. The wish was well worth it though, as Granolah far outclasses both Goku and Vegeta in battle.

Becoming the strongest fighter in Universe 7, Granolah also instinctively learns how to use destructive techniques such as Hakai. Because of his wisdom, Granolah must be stronger than what Gogeta was under Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Obviously, Goku and Vegeta are much stronger in Granolah the Survivor Saga than they were in the movie, so Gogeta at this point would have been able to beat Granolah – assuming Granolah doesn't target his vitals and instantly kill him, of course.

Ga's wish means that he would best Gogeta in a fight

Awakened Gas vs Granolah

When he learns that Granolah used the Dragon Balls to become the strongest person in Universe 7, Elec goes to Cereal, collects the Dragon Balls and wishes his brother Gas to become real strongest warrior in the universe 7. Unlike Granolah's wish, Elec's wish is worded so that Gas grows stronger every time someone surpasses him. As characters like Vegeta, Goku, and Granolah grow stronger than him, Gas's body grows to the age where he would naturally surpass them.

If Goku and Vegeta fused into Gogeta during the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Gas would simply age to the point where his body could effortlessly overpower Gogeta. The only reason Gas is defeated by Black Frieza at the end of the story arc is because Frieza wasn't in Universe 7 when Gas made his wish. Since Gogeta is an extension of Goku and Vegeta, Elec's wish would consider him.

Vegito is literally Gogeta's equal

Gogeta and Vegito from Dragon Ball

Vegito and Gogeta are two sides of the same coin. Vegito the result of Goku and Vegeta fusing with the Potara earrings. Logically, Vegito and Gogeta cannot exist at the same time without multiversal semblance, as they both require Goku and Vegeta to fuse in order to exist. If Goku and Vegeta had the Potara earrings in them Dragon Ball Super: BrolyVegito would have been able to beat Broly by himself – provided he didn't run out of time.

The biggest flaw Vegito has that Gogeta doesn't have is that the Potara Earrings cannot contain the raw strength of such a powerful fighter. Despite a time limit of one hour, Super Saiyan Blue Vegito is strong enough where he actively drains time from the fusion. Gogeta doesn't have this problem, which is evident when he doesn't disarm after hitting Broly. That said, Vegito and Gogeta should have the exact same power level inherent to their fusions.

Black Frieza is Gogeta's biggest threat right now

image: black frieza in illustration shown at jump festa 2025.

Black Frieza is the most powerful League of Death in Universe 7 right now. In his first and only appearance to date, Black Frieza effortlessly killed Awakened Gas with a single blow and crumbled Heeter into literal dust. Black Frieza then turned his sights on Goku and Vegeta, destroying both Saiyans in a lightning strike, despite being in their True Ultra Instinct and Ultra Ego forms respectively.

The fact that Black Frieza easily killed Awakened Gas more or less confirms that he could rival Gogeta in strength. Worse, no one knows the full extent of Black Frieza's power. He didn't even have to try to defeat Gas, Goku and Vegeta. It's entirely possible that a full power Black Frieza is actually stronger than Gogeta.

1

Beerus VS Gogeta would be the ultimate battle in Dragon Ball history

Beerus is the strongest god of destruction in the multiverse and the most powerful character in the Dragon Ball Super after the angels and Zeno. He is the benchmark Goku and Vegeta have trained all series to eventually reach and surpass. While they are closer than ever at the end of Dragon Ball Super: Super HerOit is implied that Gogeta was already strong enough to rival Beerus Dragon Ball Super: Broly.

Goku truly believed that legendary Super Saiyan Broly was stronger than Beerus when they fought. While Beerus is 100% hiding his true strength at this point, Goku is not one to misjudge his opponents. Super Saiyan Blue Gogeta should realistically be powerful enough to give Beerus the biggest fight he's ever seen. The question would be if Gogeta could wear Beerus down and defeat him in half an hour. If the battle goes on longer than that, Beerus wins by default.
