10 Marvel Games That Are The Most Faithful To The Comics
These Marvel games take direct inspiration from some classic comic book arcs.
The super spy has appeared in many games since the beginning of the twenty-first century, appearing as both a playable and non-playable character in action games set in the Marvel universe. She has many of the same skills and abilities, but each game finds different ways to bring them to life, as well as her personality and story to help the games stand out.
7 The Punisher
Black Widow making her first appearance in a video game
The first time Black Widow appeared in a video game was in The Punishera game from 2005. Even though she's not playable, it was impressive to see Marvel try to take a character like the Punisher and fit him into a wider Marvel universe, with SHIELD director Nick Fury, Daredevil, Iron Man and Black Widow as secondary characters.
Black Widow joins The Punisher in the game's story briefly and the ties to other Marvel properties combined with Thomas Jane reprising the role of the titular anti-hero add flavor to an already fun game. The Punisher is a brutal third-person shooter that has gone underappreciated for years but has since gained a cult following.
Natasha Romanoff shined as a DLC character
The fans were not very impressed by Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite first, but there were highlights and one of them was Black Widow. She was one of several characters added as DLC for the game and her arsenal of attacks heavily emphasized taming enemies via her Widow's Sting, a common ability in most games.
Black Widow is fast and deadly, which should come as no surprise considering that's what she's known for in the comics. One of her most effective skills in Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is her grappling hook, which she can use to quickly return to the ground to avoid an aerial attack or damage from above.
5 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
It's hard to go wrong with LEGO characters
There isn't much to Black Widow in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes as many characters feel the same apart from one or two abilities or skills. Black Widow has her dual guns and invisibility to match her super spy gimmick, which is useful for certain puzzles throughout the open world Marvel experience, featuring the Avengers, X-Men, Fantastic Four and more.

4 Disney Infinity
Marvel Heroes was a highlight of the experimental game
Disney Infinity helped define the short-lived Toys-To-Life gimmick that games like Skylanders and LEGO Dimensions experimented with. In the second wave of characters focusing on Marvel's heroes and villains, Black Widow was one of the first, and she has unique skills to have fun with in the huge toybox-like world as well as the different stories that can be played.
The lines off Disney Infinity toys are out of stock, but thankfully, Disney Infinity and its waves can be purchased digitally as one of the best Disney games. This way, Black Widow can still be experienced, with her toy weapons, invisibility and more in not only Marvel adventures, but in various other levels and maps for the ultimate Disney crossover.
3 Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
It only took a third game before Natasha was playable
For the first time in the beloved series, Black Widow was a playable character in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. In the first two games, she was at the base for players to talk to or receive quests from, but in the third entry in the beloved dungeon-crawling franchise, she was not only playable, but received a modern redesign, partly inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

2 Marvel Rivals
Widowmaker players can easily adapt to her
As a hero shooter, Marvel Rivalshas many characters that are similar Monitoringbut Black Widow is interesting because Widowmaker is already inspired by Black Widow. So it feels fitting that Natasha is equipped with a trusty grappling hook and sniper rifle, just like Widowmaker.
The similarities don't ruin Black Widow in the PvP shooter, but the character is still fun to play as a strategist class character. With the right precision from a player, Natasha can be one of the deadliest characters in Marvel Rivalsespecially when she gets her Team-Up ability with Hawkeye and her special skills.
1 Marvel's Avengers
This version of the character deserved its own game
While Marvel's Avengers wasn't the epic looter RPG Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix were hoping for, the gameplay and performances from the Avengers themselves were the highlights. Black Widow was a fan favorite for her multifaceted style, mixing different forms of martial arts, gadgets and melee weapons, including a grappling hook that allowed her to glide across the map.
Even in story mode, Laura Bailey excelled in her performance, as she had already been a go-to voice for Black Widow for years. Natasha proved to be the most loyal Avenger, working behind the scenes to bring all the heroes back together with the help of Ms. Marvel.
