The Dragon Ball Super section of the franchise introduced some of the best characters in the entire story, chief among them being Universe7's resident god of destruction, Beerus. Along with Whis, Beerus not only expanded the series' larger lore and cosmology, but also proved to be one of the best additions to Dragon Ball as a whole.
Due to his role within Universe 7, it's no secret that Beerus is the most powerful being in his universe, and also one of the most powerful figures in the entire multiverse. But despite this, there are some Dragon Ball characters that are pretty close to him in overall strength, so let's take a look at who they are!

Broly's potential means he could match Beerus one day
Debut Arc: Broly Arc
This may be a controversial choice for some over Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Piccolo, especially considering how Broly is the least experienced of the top five heroes. Despite this, his potential is perhaps the greatest of them all, which could be seen with how he managed to best 2 Super Saiyan Blues in his very first serious battle, even though he lost his mind in the process.
In the manga's rendition of the Super Hero arc, Beerus implied that none of the series' main characters are even close to his level yet, which includes Broly as well. However, his growth rate and unparalleled destructive power mean that he will inevitably match Beerus later on, and perhaps even surpass him. His raw strength in his basic Super Saiyan form was enough to match Beast Gohan and the divine transformations, so with further training, Broly can even unlock stronger states.

Moro became an absolute nightmare for the heroes
Debut Arc: Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc
Moro was an ancient evil active millions of years ago. When he returned to the main environment, his strength grew to astronomical proportions as he consumed many planets of their energy. However, he would eventually reach his best state when he absorbed Merus and gained the ability to use Ultra Instinct, which is something even Beerus couldn't do.
Despite this, this form was overpowered and defeated by Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, showing that Beerus is still above it. But Moro would then overflow with power and eventually become Planet Moro, a titanic monster whose strength was so great that Beerus was about to step in on him anyway, showing how close he was to Beerus in strength.

Vegito combines the power of Goku and Vegeta
Debut Arc: Goku Black Arc
In the world of Dragon Ballfusions are more or less considered cheat codes, as they pool the power of two already powerful warriors and multiply them further on top with barely any downsides. The first of these to ever appear was Vegito, who made his long-awaited return to the series in the Goku Black arc.
Currently, Goku and Vegeta can use God Ki within them, making them some of the strongest mortals in the multiverse. Vegito adds his strength and gets an additional boost on top of that, easily bringing him close to Beerus' level, especially when considering the possibilities if Goku and Vegeta were to now fuse with their godlike transformations.

Gogeta is an even more stable fusion than Vegito
Debut Arc: Broly Arc
Everything that has been said about Vegito's argument for being so powerful can just as easily be said about Gogeta, as both fusions are equal in every way and really only differ in which of their component personalities is more dominant, with Gogeta having more of Goku's personality and Vegito favoring Vegeta's. However, the real difference lies in the stability of the fusion.
Although the Potara Earrings will run out prematurely if the power of the fusion is too great, the Fusion Dance provides a flat 30-minute fusion regardless of effect. Also, if Gogeta were to be brought forward in the current era with Goku's Ultra Instinct and Vegeta's Ultra Ego, fans would get to see the perfect warrior who would be strong enough to maybe even defeat Beerus.

10 Anime Heroes Stronger Than Gojo, Ranked
Gojo is one of the strongest and most iconic characters in modern anime, but despite his strength, there are still some characters who could beat him.

All the other Gods of Destruction are around Beerus' level
Debut Arc: Vs. Universe 6 Arc
Every single one of the universe in the multiverse of Dragon Ball has a Destroyer God who is usually the strongest in the entire universe. Due to their ability to use the energy of destruction and the terrifying Hakai power, these figures can destroy entire planets with a simple touch of their fingers.
In it Dragon Ball Super manga, there was an exhibition match with these Destroyers before the Tournament of Power, where everyone fought with everything they had. Although Beerus took them on at once and was one of the last two standing and proved to be the strongest Destroyer, all of their strength proved to be more or less relative, with only Beerus and Quitela definitely standing above the rest.

Black Frieza can be the first mortal of a fighter's level
Debut Arc: Granolah the Survivor Arc
The Granolah arc had one of the most shocking and exciting ways an arc has ever ended, seeing Frieza return to the setting. However, this time his strength was so great in his brand new Black Frieza state that he managed to knock out Goku and Vegeta with just a single hit, which is made even more impressive considering they were in their Divine Forms.
The reason Frieza was able to do this was because he managed to get 10 years of training into a hyperbolic time chamber, which harnessed his unparalleled potential which, according to fans, made him the first mortal to reach the level of the Destroyer Gods. While he may not be as strong as Beerus, he is definitely close to him and can be stronger than some of the weaker Gods of Destruction.
