ZA NPCs steal shiny Pokemon

Pokemon players can be a pretty impatient bunch, and honestly, I count myself among their number. With the game's lack of voice acting, it can be pretty easy to shuffle past dialogue you're not overly invested in, just to get your reward and be on your merry way. However, it's good in almost every other Pokémon game except Legends: ZA, which has side quests that are a bit more in-depth and unique than the rest of the series.

For example, throughout Lumiose City, you'll find tons of NPCs that want you to give them certain Pokémon that have very specific requirements, usually regarding their size. There are a couple of them who want you to hand over the Pokemon you've found, making their intentions pretty clear from the start, but it seems like a pretty alarming number of fans are accusing these poor NPCs of stealing their Pokemon, some of which have been the all-important shinys.

Pokemon Legends: ZA NPCs steal shiny Pokemon

One of those fans is Reddit user Gay_Pink_Dragon (an incredible name by the way), who accidentally managed to give away his shiny Pumpkaboo, not realizing that the quest giver would take it as part of the quest. In the post embedded above, we can actually see the quest giver Taille standing proudly in front of a row of Pumpkaboo, one of them a deep purple, while also next to a presumably very dejected Gay_Pink_Dragon.

Surprisingly, they are not the only player who has lost their Pokemon this way. In the comments of Gay_Pink_Dragon's post, you can find another named Unknown Ghost-0 sharing a screenshot of the shiny Gogoat they accidentally gave away as part of Side Quest 63, which prompts you to find a Gogoat that a man can help with his business. In fact, just last week, a similar Reddit post by a user named VillainWhale took issue with this guy stealing their Gogoat, though thankfully theirs wasn't shiny.

Sure, you could accuse these poor NPCs of stealing Pokemon, but your argument definitely wouldn't hold up in a court of law. Both NPCs make it pretty clear that they want to keep the Pokémon you find for them for good, so if you haven't actually completed these side quests yet, be sure to read exactly what these guys want from you. I guess this just proves once and for all that Pokemon games desperately need voice acting.
