ZA needs One Cut Gen 6 Mega Evolution

In the middle of the latest Pokémon delicious, a seemingly forgotten Pokémon may be ready for a revival. With Pokemon Legends: ZA on the horizon could be the perfect chance to revisit Mega Evolutions for some creatures that have been without updates for a long time. Then Legends: ZA will revisit the Kalos region, fans are anticipating the return of Mega Evolutions, a mechanic that played a huge role in the story of Pokemon X and Y.

Of course, this would mean the return of existing creatures with Mega forms, but fans are also expecting more classic Pokemon to get the Mega treatment. The series features plenty of monsters that haven't seen the spotlight in a while, and leaks may point to one in particular that deserves a second chance. New evidence suggests that Jynx likely had a planned Mega Evolution that was cut X and Yand the upcoming title has an opportunity that should not be missed.

One Leaked Pokemon Legends: ZA Starter is Clear Odd One Out

A new leak seems to point to the identity of the starters for Pokemon Legends: ZA, but one of these rumored starters stands out from the rest.

Pokemon Legends: ZA can breathe new life into old Pokemon

Jynx made her debut among the original 151 Pokémon but has recently been left in the shadows while other creatures from the era continue to gain the spotlight. There may be reason to believe that Jynx is left alone due to her turbulent history; due to potentially racist undertones, Jynx was one of several Pokémon whose designs were changed. However, after the changes, Game Freak still included her in Generation 2 updates.

For a while, it seemed like she was part of a trio that also included Magmar and Electabuzz when all three received pre-evolutions in the form of baby Pokémon. That said, this theory was debunked when the other two got new evolutions in Gen 4, but Jynx didn't. Since Generation 2, Jynx has become a somewhat obscure Pokémon, although there is some evidence that she would receive a Mega Evolution in Generation 6. Although that ultimately did not happen, leaks and Mega Evolution fan designs have kept hope alive life.

Because many Pokémon fans have fond memories of the franchise's earliest days, Kanto Pokémon are often chosen to receive new mechanics, such as Mega Evolutions or regional forms. In fact, only a handful of Pokémon from Generation 1 haven't been updated since their release. With the return of Mega Evolutions, Gen 1 Pokemon have another chance to receive new forms, and Jynx is a prime example.

Cut content may return in Pokemon Legends: ZA

With such a massive series and so much potential, it's no surprise that many ideas for Pokémon games are left on the cutting room floor. This is seemingly what happened to Jynx's possible Mega Evolution, which isn't even the only content found that was left out of the Generation 6 release. Players have actually found tons of cut content, most notably a new form and a special move for AZ's Floette. There has long been speculation that so much was left out X and Y because she was supposed to be included in a follow-up, often called Pokémon Z. As such, some players believe that Legends: ZA will do well on clipped content from the hypothetical Pokémon Z.

Including content that was planned for Gen 6 would be the perfect way to keep the region of Kalos thematically united between the Generation 6 games and Pokemon Legends: ZA. X and Y was a big step forward in Pokémon series, which introduces many patterns that are still present in the latest games. The most important of these trends was the initiative to breathe new life into underutilized Pokémon. Mega Evolution was a saving grace for Pokemon like Beedrill and Mawile and may be the same for Jynx and others.
