Sam's Club seems to sell its warehouse of the Xbox Series X/S consoles. This is only the latest dealer that sells the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S system at a significant discount.
Some Xbox players have been frustrated by the family of consoles recently due to decisions made by Xbox Leadership. In addition to the price increase for the Xbox Game Pass, the price of the Xbox Series X/S consoles recently went up, and those who already own the systems have recently reported that ads are shown on their home screens after completing the Game Pass subscription. Although it is mostly players who express frustration, something seems to change with how retailers also look at the Microsoft consoles.
Another dealer sells Xbox Stock
Sam's Club, a Big Box retailer of membership, has started clearing the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series consoles at a discount. Although it is not clear if this is a nationwide trend, photos and reports of consoles on clearance have made waves. A store seems to have discounted Xbox Series X 1TB digital console from $ 499 to just under $ 280. Another shows the Xbox Series S 512 GB version discounted to $ 239, while another photo shows the same system that is reduced to a surprisingly low $ 179, down from the original $ 329.
In fact, Sam's club discounts are even steeper than they are originally shown due to the latest price increases of Xbox series consoles. From October 3, Xbox updated its recommended retail prices, with the cost of the Xbox Series X Digital increased to $ 599.99, and Xbox Series S 512 GB increases to $ 399.99. At the cheapest price available through Sam's Club, a buyer can get two Xbox series S 512 GB system for less than they would normally pay for a single one.
Oddly enough, Sam's Club seems to follow Costco's footsteps with this move. After the Xbox consoles disappeared from the Costco website, the dealer confirmed that it sold its remaining warehouse and would not get more Xbox. No official explanation has been offered because these systems are interrupted except that it is a business decision, but many fans speculate that the consoles do not sell well for the dealers. Even the former Blizzard lead Mike Ybarra went as far as calling the Xbox family of consoles dead. Microsoft is still moving forward with its next Gen Xbox console plans, so for the foreseeable future, the Xbox brand does not go anywhere.
