The summer gaming festivities are almost here, too Xbox Games Showcase 2026 scheduled to air on Sunday, June 7 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, and fans now know one game that will appear at the event. Other confirmed events, as of this writing, include PlayStation State of Play on June 2nd and Summer Game Fest on June 5th. Nintendo has yet to confirm anything, at least right now, but a Nintendo Direct is expected to happen sometime in June.
While the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 only has this one game confirmed, it's worth noting that some fans believe a recent Xbox Game Pass tweak leaked some. Essentially, a bunch of games have just been moved to TBA/Coming Soon, leading users to believe they will appear at the Showcase. The supposed Xbox Games Showcase leaked games are Clockwork Revolution, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Tropico 7, Armatus, Witchbrook, Fableand There are no ghosts at the Grand. Interestingly though, none of these games are confirmed.

June 7 is a Double Dip in Gears of War: E-Day
The Xbox Games Showcase will be followed by a Gears of War: E-Day Directly, but as notified in advance, Gears of War: E-Day will also be on the Xbox Games Showcase. This should not be surprising, as the 2024 event featured Black Ops 6 during the Showcase and the Direct, and the 2025 event made for The Outer Worlds 2. Both were also released in the respective years, meaning fans can expect Gears of War: E-Day even this year, despite the fact that it is not on the above-mentioned list. During the event, the Direct will showcase “new details, gameplay and insights” into the game as well, according to Xbox.

As fans of the franchise know, Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel that precedes the events of the original Gears of War. Developed by The Coalition and People Can Fly, who worked on Gears of War: Judgmentsees that player step into the shoes of Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago during the events of Emergence Day. The Locust Horde attack the surface and meet the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) in the city of Kalona. As this is the first contract, Gears of War: E-Day working to bring some of the horror behind the Locust Horde back to the fore.
Overall, it looks like a solid game and has been slated for a 2026 release for some time. This is why the aforementioned TBA portion of Xbox Game Pass does not include this title. Maybe there's some special backend stuff since Xbox intends to drop shadows Gears of War: E-Daywhich would be a good way to dominate the conversation for a little while, even if it's just playful speculation. But in all likelihood, the supposed Xbox Game Pass leak isn't “hiding” as many details as fans hope.

What is interesting is the list of Xbox games 2026 (published by Xbox Games Studio). Forza Horizon 6 is one of the highest rated games of the year so far, with Gears of War: E-Day and Fable to be two big ones on the horizon. Combined with other Xbox Games Studio games, those mentioned in the leak and possible surprises, and it seems that Xbox is finally making a move. But we'll see how the Xbox Games Showcase shakes out.
