World of Warcraft's new DRIVE bracket explained

Now it seems World of Warcraft have changed their minds about that particular trait of Delves. During an interview with Wow content creator The Comeback Kids, World of Warcraft The game director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed that Brann stayed not only in World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, but in all The war within. “The big one [challenge with changing companions] is that players have leveled up Brann, they have him fully upgraded and spec'd out. If you replace him, do we just remove all that?” Hazzikostas feared that resetting progress with his Delve buddy every season would feel bad to the fans, so to avoid this, players will keep Brann as their partner until Midnight.
Brann is the only dive buddy in World of Warcraft: The War Within
From a logistical point of view, this makes sense. While adding new Delve companions would add variety, it wouldn't feel right to replace all the hard work players have put into leveling Brann after a few short months. Some fans suggested keeping both characters or splitting progress between them, but it seems those solutions didn't fit with Blizzard's idea of how additional Delve companions would work. It may come as a disappointment to the players, but it seems World of Warcraft will only get a Delve buddy every two years for the foreseeable future.

That said, there is still some good news about Delves in Patch 11.1. Three new instances – two more Delves and a final boss Delve similar to it WoW: The War Within Season 1 Zevkir Encounter – Coming, with achievements, rewards and goblin-themed curiosities. Brann will also be able to become a tank, allowing the Delve companion to fill any role.
It remains to be seen exactly how additional Delve companions will work in World of Warcraft: Midnightor which characters can accompany players in the expansion's instances. Given that it's set in Quel'thalas, fans might be able to team up with iconic elven explorers, like Naleidea Rivergleam or Elise Starseeker. Until then, players can only speculate how the system will change throughout the Worldsoul Saga and beyond.
