How to get The Iron Lance for free in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
Dragon Quest 3 Remake have several classes to choose from that range in usefulness during combat. While each class learns its own abilities and spells, all party members will need a weapon that can be used as a basic attack when they have no other options.
For the most part, weapons won't change a character's basic attack, external whips and boomerangs allow you to attack multiple enemies instead of one. Finding and using a powerful melee weapon is key for some classes, and weapons like the Iron Lance can be obtained without spending all your gold; here's how to get it for free.

How to get The Iron Lance for free in Dragon Quest 3 Remake
The Iron Lance can be obtained for free by getting it through a monster drop when defeating an Antguzzler. Antguzzlers are blue variants of the anteater monster, found in either the Baharata region or near Alltrades Abbey. These locations can be accessed after completing the first main part of the game, after defeating Robbin' 'ood and returning the crown to the king. After that you will be allowed to pass through the mine which will take you to the other part of the map that was previously unreachable.
While Antguzzlers are found throughout the Baharata region they occur slightly more often near Alltrades Abbeywhich is a short walk north of Baharata. Defeating an Antguzzler also gives you:
- 278 Experience
- 13 gold coins
The drop rate of the Iron Lances of these monsters is not great, but you should get one after defeat about seven to ten of them. If you're just farming for this item, run when you encounter other enemies to save time. These monsters also usually travel in groups, with each one having a chance to drop an Iron Lance and further increasing your odds from a single fight.
Iron Lance Stats
The Iron Lance has 24 Attackwhich is one of the better options you can get at this point in the game, especially without spending money. Although it is a spear, this weapon is wielded in only one hand so the character can still equip a shield and keep their defense high in battle. When you first arrive at this part of the game, it's recommended that you farm anyway to prepare for the next dungeon, and farming for this weapon just makes it more worth your time.
