When Hades 2 first entered its early release period, players noticed the glaring absence of a weapon in the game Silver pool arsenal. Speculation that a final weapon was coming was confirmed when the Black Coat was added OS update, Hades 2's first major expansion. Fans of the series will know that each weapon has variants called Aspectswhich usually change important parts of a weapon's abilities. This guide will rank all three aspects of Black Coat and explain which version is currently most useful for defeat Chronos and Prometheus.

Hades 2: How To Wake Up Hypnosis (& What Happens)
In Hades 2, it is at least partially possible to awaken Hypnos as of the Olympic update, which added a new exciting spell.
For those players who have already made great progress
hades 2,
The Black Coat will likely be available to unlock as soon as you download the Olympic Update. We don't yet know for sure when the weapon will be unlocked from the start of a new game, but will add it soon. To unlock the Black Coat, you need two Cinders and two Adamant.
3. Black Coat Aspect of Nyx – Hades 2
Aspect name |
Description |
How to unlock |
---|---|---|
Aspect of Nyx |
You have Omega Boostwhich allows you to produce Nightspawn after you activate it.
|
Darkness x1 Plasma x4 |
- Black Coat's Aspect of Nyx is generally considered the least useful for general purposes. The biggest problem with this aspect is that its sprint essentially forces players to use 30 Magick if they attack at the end. While this doesn't occur in every scenario, it happens enough to make you wonder why it was designed this way. It is especially serious when you do not use Invisible arcana, which automatically recharges your magic. Aside from the main skill, this aspect has the same function as Melinoe's, just slower.
- The Aspect of Nyx has its uses, especially when you use it Oed of the Unseen. The Nightspawn skill is most useful when you are forced to take out large numbers of enemies in a hurry. There are certainly better weapons for it, but that's why Nyx's aspect is currently the least useful of the three.
2. Black Coat Aspect of Selene – Hades 2
Aspect of Selene |
You start with Skyfall, a hidden Hex that hits multiple enemies and applies Shine.
|
Silver x4 Moondust x4 |
---|
- The Aspect of Selene is good for those players who like to use the Hex mechanic. When used strategically, Shine can turn a crowd to dust in seconds. Using Omega Special is especially effective with this Hex. As the aspect upgrades, it requires less Magick to activate Hex, with the final upgrade making it so that players who use magick regularly will be able to use it multiple times in a single encounter.
- Currently, one of the only recorded 32 Fear speed runs in the Underworld was done with Aspect of Selene, which is not surprising. But for average players, the guaranteed Hex simply cannot stand up to the benefits offered from the best aspect.
1. Black Coat Aspect of Melinoe – Hades 2
Aspect of Melinoe |
Your attack, sprint and movement speed is faster. |
Basic aspect unlocked with weapon |
---|
- The Aspect of Melinoemay not appear to be the best for all players, but it is undoubtedly the most useful for the largest number of players. It's hard to beat any kind of bonus speed Hades 2. The benefits permeate almost every aspect of the game. With faster attacks, you do more damage over time. With faster sprint and movement speed, you can get out of the way of attacks that much faster. The special attack locks onto enemies and releases projectiles faster. It's hard to overstate how helpful speed is.
- Upgrading Aspect of Melinoe can give you up to 20% bonus speed, which may not sound like much, but you can definitely feel it in-game.
All three Aspects share the same Omega Attack, Special, and Cast moves. Remember that Omega Attack has the ability to block, replacing Moonstone Hammer's ability to do so.
