When to bluff in 007 First Light

  • How to bluff: Q on PC, Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox

Bluffs will definitely be the least used mechanic within 007 First light thanks to their high Instinct cost. Scams are mainly used in parts where you trespassand will often be used on other NPCs, guards and enemies.

If you find yourself walking up to an NPC or guard, and they yell at you, you can press the Bluff button to make an explanation, so you can walk right past them without getting into a fight or getting sent out of the area. However, it is important to note that Watchers cannot be bluffed. The bluff effect will also disappear, indicated by the X icon above the NPC's head.

As previously mentioned, Bluffs cost Instinct, which can be earned over time. Your level of instinct will be displayed in the instinct meter on your clock at the bottom left of the screen, while the cost of bluffs will be displayed at the bottom when you can perform one. Here's a quick rundown of how to get Instinct:

  • Takedowns

  • Eliminate enemies

  • Wiretapping

When to lure in 007 First Light

  • How to Attract: V on PC, Up on D-Pad on PlayStation and Xbox

Deception is another mechanic that should be used sparingly and is used almost exclusively in stealth games. To deceive, quite simply look at the enemy you would like to attract and press the button you have bound to it. When it's done, Bond will call out and the enemy often comes to check the situation.

Lures come in handy in the following circumstances:

  1. Used to move a target out of line of sight of other enemies for a stealth takedown.

  2. Used to distract an enemy or group of enemies and move them to another location so you can sneak around.

  3. Brings an enemy just out of reach closer for a quick takedown.

Just like Bluffs, Lures use Instinct. Curls may not always be necessary, because Sabotaging nearby objects such as radios, generators, and other objects in the world can achieve the same effectwhich allows you to save Instinct.

When to be taken down in 007 First Light

  • How to remove: X on PC, X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation

Takedowns are arguably the most common tactic you'll use to take down enemies 007 First light and, as previously mentioned, you can often use them right after luring an enemy to your position. During stealth sections, Takedowns are best used on single targets outside of other enemies' lines of sight. Here's a summary of how to best use takedowns in stealth sections:

  1. On single targets who have their backs to youapproach them from behind (often crouched) and close in to perform a Takedown. Likewise, you can perform the same feat on an enemy below you by approaching a ledge and then pressing the Takedown button.
  2. If you're behind cover low enough to cover, you can perform a Cover Takedown. Use a decoy or distraction to bring the enemy close if they're too far away, then wait for the prompt to perform a takedown.

  3. If the previous two options are not possible and an enemy is out of range, you can throw them away by throwing a nearby object (or weapons that have little ammunition) against the enemy, or by wobbling them with your dart phone. When staggered, walk up to them and perform a Takedown.

In sections where your cover is blown, during hand-to-hand sequences, or during License to Kill areas, you can also perform a Finisher / Takedown on enemies. To do this, engage in hand-to-hand combat until they are staggered. From here, when prompted, you can perform a delete to finish them.
