Pragmatics is Capcom's newest IP that puts you in the shoes of a space engineer named Hugh who finds an android named Diana, and the two end up working together to stop a hostile AI from taking over the space station, and in turn protect Earth from trouble.
The third-person action-adventure officially releases on April 17, but the exact release time will vary depending on your region and which platform you decide to play on Pragmatics on. Keep reading to find out when it drops!
Pragmatic review
Capcom's new sci-fi game packs exciting action and exploration, but drops the ball with its story and characters.
Pragmata Release Time in your time zone
When does it release?
Pragmaticss release time can be a bit confusing to explain, but here's the gist. You can also refer to our handy-dandy time zone table below for more information. But essentially, if you play Pragmatics on Steam, the game will launch at 12:00 PM Eastern Time on April 17th. It's a simultaneous launch, so that means if you're on the West Coast you can start playing at 9pm PT. For some other major cities, London will have access at 5 a.m. on April 17; people in Tokyo will get it at 1pm on April 17; and people in Auckland can play at 4pm on 17 April.
However, if you are going to play Pragmatics on consoles, such as Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the game will be released globally at midnight local time. However, if you are in the US, the time based on the East Coast is midnight on April 17th. So, if you're in the US, the release time is too Pragmatics is the same whether you're on Steam or on console. However, for those outside the US, such as London, Berlin or Singapore, the game will be released at midnight local time.
So this means that if you live in the US and want to play Pragmatics early you can theoretically create an account in another region, such as New Zealand/Australia, and purchase the game through the respective digital storefront. I've done this quite a few times for Switch games to get a head start on coverage.

Can you preload Pragmata?
Prepare yourself
Yes! If you pre-order Pragmatics on PS5, Switch 2 and XSX/S (or on Steam) you can start downloading and installing the game before it launches. That way, you can start playing as soon as it's released.
The console and PC versions of the Pragmatics will take up around 34 gigabytes, while the Switch 2 version appears to be around 17 gigabytes.
What's in the Deluxe Edition of Pragmata? And is it worth it?
It depends
The standard edition of Pragmatics is $59.99, and the Deluxe edition is $69.99. For those who decide to pick up the Deluxe edition, you'll get access to the Shelter Variety Pack, which includes the following:
-
Hugh Outfit – Heavy Lifter
-
Hugh Outfit – Lunar Cat
-
Diana Outfit – Mecha Builder
-
Diana Outfit – Fluffy
-
Weapon Skin – Grip Gun DS
-
Shelter BGM – Memories Are You (Lo-fi Ver.)
-
Shelter BGM – Dawn (EDM Ver.)
-
Shelter BGM – Shelter (Jazz Ver.)
-
Diana gesture – drowsy
-
Diana gesture – pumped up
-
Diana gesture – Stepping
-
Data Library – Artwork
Whether the extra ten bucks to pick up the Deluxe version is worth it really depends on your interest in cosmetics. There are a couple of outfits you can unlock Pragmatics organically by using a collectible called Cabin Coins at the Shelter, but it appears that the four outfits in the Deluxe edition are exclusive.
Anyway, Pragmatics is still definitely a game worth checking out in April 2026, regardless of which version you're using.
