Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced Virtua Fighter 5 REVO coming to Steam, making it the first Virtua Fighter game that will be released on PC in almost 27 years. The release of REVO also marks the first time that Virtua Fighter 5 will be released on PC after its initial arcade launch back in 2006. The series pushed the boundaries with its 3D graphics and technology, which many found to be ahead of its time. A new Virtua Fighter has finally been officially confirmed, and fans are overjoyed after spending nearly twenty years with their last major installment.
Virtua Fighter 5 REVO is an improved remaster of the original Virtua Fighter 5with this port based on the 2021s Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown. The REVO version aims to give fighting game players the most optimal experience on PC, such as netcode recovery for a smooth online experience, 60 FPS and 4K resolution support. There will also be a number of balance tweaks coming to this version. Although a release date has not been announced yet, Sega is confirming it Virtua Fighter 5 REVO will launch on Steam this winter.
When will Virtua Fighter 5 REVO be released on Steam?
The last one Virtua Fighter games to release on PC var Virtua Fighter 2.1 back in 1997. The original Virtua Fighter 5 first released in 2006 for arcade games, before launching on the PlayStation 3 in 2007. An updated version of Virtua Fighter 5 subtitled Final Showdown was released in the 2010s for Xbox and PS3, before the game received a complete remake with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's Dragon Engine, exclusively released on PS4.
