Vampire Survivor has continued to provide players with an incredibly fun rogue-like experience, and its plans for 2025 promise even more exciting content on the horizon. The indie hit has continued to grow since its launch in 2022, and as the new year begins, the developers are coming off Vampire Survivor plan to take a “less is more” stance when it comes to updates. Instead of several small updates throughout the year, Vampire Survivor will receive major free updates less frequently in the future.
This approach has its pros and cons, as more consistent content may be seen as the stronger approach by some, but less frequency with larger updates can also have major benefits. Vampire Survivor and its new method of rolling out content is an exciting change of pace, especially since 2024 was such an eventful year for the game. As the title continues to evolve and grow in popularity, these types of changes are necessary to make a player's experience as satisfying as possible. However, it is interesting to note that Vampire Survivor seems to have the opposite attitude to a game that also started as a massive indie hit: Minecraft.

The first announcement was made in September 2024 in a community update via a blog post on Minecrafts official website. Written by Ryan Cooper, Director of Minecraftthe blog post says, “Instead of providing one free update over the summer, as we've done in the past, we'll now be releasing a number of free game drops throughout the year. These game drops will vary in size and give you features to explore more often.”
Last week, Minecraft released its first update image of the year with 25w03a.
