There are many areas to explore Throne and Liberty; each comes with its own set of side quests that players can complete via the Codex entries. These quests are unlocked after activating the Waystone for an area so that it appears on the player's map. And while most areas will appear on the map, there is one that is hidden from the others: the Ant Nest. This area is located northeast of Vienta Village, just below the Raging Wilds icon on the map. It comes with a tricky little mission called The beginning of misfortune.

Throne And Liberty: 5 Best Support Builds
Those looking to use a good support build in Throne and Liberty have several options to choose from; here are the best ones available.
This area is no joke with its swarms of ants everywhere, and these can group together quite quickly to overwhelm players. While the recommended level for the Ant Nest area is at least 35, people should be a few levels above that to have an easier time. The beginning of calamity involves taking on many large enemies in the Ant Nest, so having as much power in your attacks is essential to survival. Here's everything players need to know about finding success in Beginning of Misfortune.
How to complete Beginning of Misfortune
There are three goals which players must complete for this mission:
- Collect a page from Collection: Expedition Records: Ant Nest
- Defeat Honeypot Ant
- Defeat the Giant Acid Ant
While one of these is fairly easy to take down, the other two can be a bit tricky.
Collect a page from the collection: Expedition Record: Ant Nest
No icon for this page's location will appear on the map, although it's not too hard to find. It can be found early in the Myr Nest, just above the food storage area of the section.
As players enter the larger area of the anthill, players can find several pits to fall into. One of these has something called a “mysterious note”, which is the page you are looking for. Interact with it to pick it up to complete this objective.
Honeypot Ant Location
This is the hardest part of the mission, giving players a lot of trouble to find the Honeypot Ant and then defeat it as well. The problem is that there there are no icons on the map or any indications of where to find the Honeypot Ant in the nest.
There are several places where a Honeypot Ant can spawn, and the southern area of the Ant Nest seems like a good bet for finding one. Players must be on the lookout for giant, glowing eggs; this is the Honeypot Ant.
To make the Honeypot Ant come out of this egg, player must defeat the smaller ants around it. This is easier said than done, as they will swarm as previously mentioned. Players must keep moving to avoid being surrounded.
Using someone
powerful AoE attacks
will help a lot in taking out these smaller ants.
Fortunately, once the honeypot ant arrives, it's not too difficult. Players just need to hit it with their biggest attacks, and it will go down without much of a fight.
Defeat the Giant Acid Ant
The easiest part of the mission comes along icons on the minimap for players to find one of these Giant Acid Ants. They are everywhere and won't be that hard to track down.
Even better, they fall easily – as long as players hit them with some strong attacks. They just have to think about the smaller enemies around the Giant Acid Ant, or they can find themselves quickly outnumbered.
