The Terminator franchise has been a staple of the action blockbuster world for over four decades. The 1985s The Terminator met with mixed reviews upon its release, but it has since been hailed as an all-time great Sci-Fi, and its 1991 sequel, Terminator 2: Judgment Dayis still widely regarded as one of the best action films ever made. It probably hasn't been anything really good Terminator film since then T2but the franchise has remained in the public consciousness thanks to its references and cameos in other media.
Along with a plethora of Terminator games over the years – like Terminator 2 arcade games and the much newer ones Terminator: Resistance – the franchise has seen its fair share of cameo appearances in other video game franchises, with some of the most memorable being skins in Gears of War 5 and Fortnite. These cameos help keep Terminator in the mainstream spotlight, and it's just been pushed back there thanks to Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat.

The Terminator is already having a strong year in the gaming world
The Terminator is back in Call of Duty
All the way back in August 2022, The Terminator crossed with Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone. For a limited time, players could purchase two packs based on the beloved Sci-Fi action series, one giving players a skin based on Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800, and the other giving players a skin based on Robert Patrick's T-1000, both will from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. These bundles also included a variety of unique voice lines, weapon skins, and other themed cosmetics.
With the introduction of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 season 2, The Terminator returns to the military shooting series. Expected to hit the store in early February, players will be able to purchase a new one TerminatorThemed Operator Pack, this time giving players a T-800 shell based on Arnie's appearance in the original 1985 film. This pack also comes with an Operator shell based on the Terminator's iconic metallic endoskeleton, along with some themed weapon designs, a finishing move, an emote and some extra cosmetics.
Terminator 2's T-1000 is coming to Mortal Kombat 1
Mortal Kombat 1 nearing the end of its currently announced DLC plans, with Terminator 2's T-1000 is the last fighter confirmed to appear. Although there is no confirmed release date for the MK1s T-1000 DLC fighter, it seems likely that he will arrive sometime in March, as Conan the Barbarian just came to the game two months after Ghostface, suggesting that the T-1000's release is about two months away.
Robert Patrick will reprise his role as the T-1000 in Mortal Kombat 1.
But sort of like Call of Dutythis is not the first time Mortal Kombat the series has crossed over with Terminator. The T-800 was the third DLC character to arrive Mortal Kombat 11 back in October 2019. Fixed MK11's T-800 bore Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness (specifically based on his appearance in the 2019 Terminator: Dark Fate), he did not return to vote for the fighter, instead leaving it up to actor Chris Cox.
