Legendary duos and trios get tons of attention (and money) in the Pokemon TCG, with popular options typically costing hundreds of dollars. Articuno and the other legendary birds of Kanto have valuable lists of cards from similar sets. For example, you'll notice that some of Zapdo's most valuable cards share several common sets with Articuno.

Pokemon TCG: The 8 Most Valuable Cards from Platinum: Supreme Victors
Here are the most valuable cards from Platinum: Supreme Victors in the Pokemon TCG!
Vintage cards continue to feel the effects of stiff competition with modern releases, but classic cards from some of the best Pokémon sets ever are hard to beat. Articuno has some extremely recognizable cards, with other expensive entries coming from underrated sets.
The cards are ordered according to their TCGPlayer market price, which, on average, you can pay for a copy of (first edition, if applicable) card below.
Given the age and rarity of these cards, only those with one established market price on TCGplayer is included.
However, sale prices vary depending on the condition of the card, so this market price is only a rough idea of the card's value.

Articuno EX (Team Plasma): Plasma Storm (Full Art) – $66.03
Rising from the darkness
Articuno EX starts a trend of darker artwork among Articuno's most valuable cards, with some of the best choices featuring dark blues and shadows. But despite the dark blue color, this scene is incredibly vivid, with great art and deep colors that set this card apart.
You can find this Articuno for much less than market price if you are willing to compromise on condition.
Articuno EX retails for around $19 hard played (HP) condition, and closer to $27 for moderately played copies (MP) condition. If you want an even better card, expect to pay over $50 for an easy-to-play card (LP) Articuno, with an almost mint color (NM) sits at the top of the pile and commands the market price.
5
Articuno: Supreme Victors (Secret Rare) – $119.64
A unique sweet card
Supreme Victors is one of the most easily distinguishable and well-designed Articuno cards ever, as this Pokémon emerges from the star-studded blue background with its lighter color palette. If you want a sweet version of Articuno, then this is the best card you will find to suit your needs.

Pokemon TCG: The 6 Most Valuable Typhlosion Cards
Typhlosion has twin cards in two valuable vintage sets among its most valuable cards.
Unfortunately, with a beautiful design comes a high price tag, as even copies of this card in LP condition can fetch around $75 on TCGplayer, with NM cards soaring to peaks of approx. $149 – doubling the cost of a card just in a slightly worse condition.
4
Articuno: First Edition Fossil (Holo Rare) – $121.80
Don't mess with a classic
Fossil is one of the most popular Pokémon sets of all time, as one of the original releases in the early 2000s. This first edition of Articuno is so iconic that it was reprinted as part of the legendary collection and is included alongside some of the most recognizable vintage Pokemon cards.
Expect first editions to carry a significant premium over their unrestricted counterparts, as first edition cards in MP condition cost nearly $48, with NM copies selling for over $120 in most cases.
3
Articuno Ex: FireRed & LeafGreen (Secret Rare) – $194.58
Baby Blue Brilliance
It's no surprise that this spectacular FireRed & LeafGreen Articuno ex sits among the set's most valuable cards, along with its fellow legendary birds. This iteration competes with Supreme Victor's Articuno as the two brightest copies, but the Articuno's design doesn't stand out from the background as clearly in this shot.

Pokemon TCG: The 10 Most Valuable Cards in Plasma Freeze
The best cards from Plasma Freeze may shock you.
Appearance aside, Articuno's price is greatly affected by condition, as the market price is only as high as it is when the card is in NM condition. Superb NM copies can rule over $200, but drop to LP and the price will drop to about half, with recent LP sales under $100.
2
Articuno: Skyridge (Holo Rare) – $209.95
One of the goats
Skyridge is legendary among Pokémon sets thanks to its large list of incredibly valuable cards. The list of top tier cards in this set goes on and on, with Articuno standing out as one of the best Pokemon from the set. But, much like the previous Articuno, it condition makes a huge difference in potential value.
This card is so rare that there are no new sales at the time of writing, although there are lists ranging from as low as $115 for a damaged copy and as high as $625 for an NM copy, leaving plenty of room for this card to eventually find a place to settle.
1
Rocket's Articuno Ex (Ultra Rare) – $265.00
Red And Blue Harmony
Rocket's Articuno-ex stands alone as the best Articuno card ever, towering over its competitors with a sky-high market price. As one of the best Rocket cards, this Articuno has plenty of accolades to show off, although the art style is much weaker than the Supreme Victors version.
While this card isn't as hard to find as Articuno from Skyridge, it's still incredibly expensive, with tom LP copies are sold for $250, when NM jumps up to $265. With such a small difference at the top end of the range, the gap is likely to widen as time goes on and vintage cards in good condition become harder to find.
