The last of the US season two is ongoing and some may have considered the first episode a bit inevitable, especially compared to the action -packed season a premiere. There are, of course, many big moments to come, and the weeks ahead of previews to tease part of that action may have given us a first look at a scene that comes after the moment everyone who has played the last of us part 2 is fear.
The weeks ahead the trailer, which you can check out below, shows many things those who have played the sequel will recognize. It is, however, a wink and you will miss the moment that caught the eye on the Reddit user U/Donny_Z28. They shared a screenshot by Ellie who held a gun on R/Thelastofushboseries Subditit, pointed out when it in the last of us part 2 that scene in the show can replicate.

If the scene in the show is the same as the one it seems to adapt to the game, belongs to the gun in Ellie's hands Joel, and she examines it when she visits his house for the first time after he was killed. The sequence in the game is a heartbreaking because players have the task of going through the house, interacting with various objects that belonged to Joel and reminded Ellie for meaningful moments they shared together.

Together with the gun you can examine photos, Joels Owl Coffee Mug and the broken clock that was gifted to him by his late daughter Sarah. If the show will adjust that sequence exactly, it will be difficult to look at. It starts with Ellie tending to Joel's grave and then visiting the vacant house before she and Dina leave Jackson to Seattle.
Although it seems very likely that we will have to experience Joel's brutal death again in a whole new medium, it is not confirmed that the most important moment from the last of us part 2 will even be part of season two. The sequel will be divided over at least two seasons, so there is a chance that death will be saved for season three. Given what we have already seen in section one and weeks ahead, it seems unlikely.
Fans of the games have already taken up a couple of details from season two first episodes that were put there just for them. The employee of the dog's photo is a reference to one of Part 2's more inventive puzzles, and Ellie who chooses to distract a clicker with a bottle has brick lovers up in the arms.
