The God of War game starring Faye will also feature Tyr, it's claimed

More details about the next God of War game are being reported, now highlighting what mythologies it may explore.

According to MP1st, the next God of War game is a spin-off that will indeed feature Faye as the main playable character. It is also claimed that Tyr will be part of the story, possibly as a playable character as well as Faye, and that the story will explore both Chinese and Japanese mythologies.

New Details Of Rumored God Of War Spin-Off Revealed

“We here at MP1st can confirm that East Asian mythologies will be a part of it, as we've heard that elements from Chinese and Japanese mythologies will be included in a new entry in the series,” the latest report reads. “That said, game development is a fickle thing, and as such things are always subject to change, although we expect them to be in the final version of the title.”

MP1st also highlights a previous leaker, who first made claims about the new God of War game way back in 2023. They claim that there will be two playable characters, possibly Faye and Tyr.

If there is any truth to these claims, we may find out very soon. Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming has already claimed that the next God of War game will be announced this month, so it could be just a few days away.

Although the game is announced soon, we may have to wait a while until we can actually play it. The only word we have on a release date is that it could be in the first half of 2027, so maybe a full year away. That being said, it would be wise to keep a huge release like this out of GTA 6's release window. Sure, it would still sell well, but it would be left out of the conversation.

Faye appeared in God of War Ragnarok, played by Deborah Ann Woll, who would hopefully reprise her role in this rumored spin-off. Before that, Faye didn't appear, but was a big part of God of War (2018), as it revolved around Kratos and Atreus bringing her ashes to the highest peak of the Nine Realms. So any Faye-led game would be a prequel, although it's unclear when exactly that would take place.
