The collection's current schedule is officially destroyed edge of eternity and Lorwyn is darkened

Magic: The collection Is in a strange place right now, since 2025 may have been the best year ever for IP when it comes to sales, but the player's happiness and/or satisfaction did not necessarily increase at the same rate, if at all. There were actually different controversy about Magic: The collectionAs the Final Fantasy Set's Power card level as Vivi Ornitier, whereby the relevant 2025 release schedule is made of 50% universe in addition, the reception of Spider-Man and finally the disclosure of next year's sets. However, there were outlier and good things, and the edge of eternity was one of them. The second most hyped set is Lorwyn darkened, which comes in January 2026, but it is already plagued by an unfortunate issue created by UB.

MTG-Spider-Man-2019 card

On paper, the edge of eternity and Lorwyn could not be more different than each other, where the former was a sci-fantasy set of spaceships and space stations, and the latter was a purely high fantasy world with magical creatures, critters of the forest and elementary forces. They, however, share a unique band in the fact that both of these sets have a bicycle of so -called Mtg Shock chips that are not only valuable but also very strong when it comes to games. These are:

  • The edge of eternity shockland

    • Breeding pool (green and blue)

    • Godless sanctuary (white and black)

    • Sacred Foundry (red and white)

    • Stomping ground (red and green)

    • Watery grave (blue and black)

  • Lorwyn darkened shock countries

    • Blood Crypt (black and red)

    • Hallowed fountain (white and blue)

    • Overgrown grave (black and green)

    • Steam valves (blue and red)

    • Temple Garden (green and white)

Now these country cycles were probably designed to get out of each other to make them legal in the standard sandbox for a few years and rotate at the same time. However, this is no longer the case and MtgThe universe beyond is the obligation.

Say goodbye to a full set of MTG shocks in standard

EOE-054_KJelasodkmfr_447175_1920x1080

In November last year, Wizards of the Coast revealed the foundations set for Mtg In addition to the standard-law universe in addition to sets and a change in the game's standard rotation that comes in the future. As it stands, Mtg Sets rotate out of standard with the new case every year, but from 2027 this will no longer be the case. Since Lorwyn was darkened from 2025 and by January 2026 to make room for a UB set, either Spider-Man or Avatar, the new rule that comes into force in 2027 will make the sets rotate when the first calendar year extension is released instead.

2028 will be the end of an era for MTG's edge of eternity and Lorwyn darkened

What this means is that the edge of eternity will rotate out of the standard in 2028, while Lorwyn is darkened will disappear in 2029, which effectively makes the shock country cycles legal in standard during different periods. While WOTC can print shock land during the first 2028, which is still made to make them viable together with the lives by Lorwyn for another year, the problem will present themselves again in 2029 when the Allied shock lands from Lorwyn Eclipsed rotate. This is a major deficiency that can not only disappear or be completely ignored, and it would not have happened without Mtg's Plethora of new standard-law UB sets.

MTG's 2025 and 2026 Release Schedule is already controversial

Not only that, but even if one does not want to account for the rotation problem, the fact that Magic: The collectionLorwyn Eclipsed Set was delayed next year also means that players must wait a total of five months and three weeks ago the emission of the eternity edge to get a complete set of allies and enemy shock countries in standard. By comparison, given that Lorwyn would first come out during the fourth quarter of 2025, it would have been released either in September, as Spider-Man (then one and a half months after EOE), or in November, as Avatar (so three months).

Dungeons and Dragons Lorwyn First Light Shadowmoor Crossing Magic The Gathering

This may not seem so much, but given the current state of standard meta in MTG, there is a chance but zero to have access to a full set of shock countries may have previously changed the meta tires that enter the new ban window 10 November.
